  1. I'm not a big fan of Cutters. Seems to me that for a lot of guys it's their fourth or fifth best pitch and they'd be better served keeping it in their back pocket.
  2. I'm still trying to come to grips with Black Uniforms, in Baltimore, in the summer.
  3. I'm not saying you are. But we got folks screaming steal every time Mateo or Mullins gets on base. Getting picked off is part of the risk.
  4. It's OK, some dude posted a Belgian symphonic progressive rockband by the name of Banzai yesterday and I just found it. Love the look on the guy on the left.
  5. It isn't a matter of generosity, it's where the balls actually went.
  6. You are suggesting that you have some insight into his thought process, that he would respond like you do to certain stimulus. That implies some degree of similarity. You are the one that said "Judge is no different in that regard" when talking about how you would react to a certain situation. Some guys will just take the walk, every time. Judge is pretty much one of those guys. If your plan is to make darn sure he isn't going to get anything to hit in an at bat, you're pretty much putting him on first.
  7. What makes you think he'd get tired of walking and start chases pitches safely out of the zone? Did Bonds ever get tired or walking? Did Williams? Does Soto? How do you know Judge is "no different" than you? Are you actually suggesting you and Judge are in the same category as hitters?
  8. They don't adjust that stuff every day. Also, what difference does it really make? Jesus Montero had what, a 70 hit tool? How'd he end up? Just enjoy the season he's having.
  9. Sounds like he's starting to cool off already.
  10. The formula for wRC is: wRC = (((wOBA-League wOBA)/wOBA Scale)+(League R/PA))*PA
  11. Sure, but Judge is a disciplined hitter. If you pitch around him enough that he won't get a mistake that he can park odds are pretty good you are pitching around him enough that he's going to take his walk. From what you've seen of Judge do you think he's the type to swing at three balls that don't qualify as "anything to hit"?
  12. Oh, so without the benefit of hindsight you wouldn't have walked him the three times he made an out and you would have walked him the one time he got a hit. Got it.
  13. So instead of going 1-4 with a walk you would have just walked him five times? I'm sure trading three outs for three baserunners wouldn't have caused any issues.
  14. Shame I didn't see about Miller before, Mitchell HS is under 10 miles away.
  15. So why did you quote me and ask me a question that was supposedly not related to what you quoted?
  16. Who hadn't faced a big league batter before? I'm sure they all had. If you spend any time at all in the minors you are going to end up facing a guy that has played in the majors. It's mostly about talent. You can have more culture than a case of Oikos but if you don't have talent you aren't going to win.
  17. If they realized he was unlikely to develop, since he *sucks* why didn't they trade him? It just seems you are putting all the blame on the player and none on the organization.
