  1. That one was half and half. Yes I was joking when I called other folks negative. But the team isn't actually in that bad a spot.
  2. You guys are too negative. Look at it this way, the O's are tied with the Yankees after 5 with the Yankees are throwing their best pitcher!
  3. You should also have a group at your AAA team on hand to shuttle members back and forth as much as the new option rules allow.
  4. You also need more arms that you can use for two or three innings. I'd also go with a three or four man rotation if the plan is to only go four innings a start.
  5. Scherzer was warned and cleaned his hands before he was tossed. As for the sign stealing...how is that on the Umps? That's the league office. I 100% agree that the main offices of all the major sports favor large market clubs.
  6. I firmly believe you can, but you have to build for it and the Orioles haven't.
  7. Noticing that figure isn't the same as noticing an actual bias. You folks know this.
  8. Which is more easily explained by pitch framing than an actual bias. You know the edge fanbase as well as I do. If there was actually something there someone would have gone viral with it. When MLB switched the balls out for Judge to break the record folks noticed, even if the National media ignored the story.
  9. You are aware that the site Umpire Scorecards is a thing right? If there was an actual pattern of Umps showing bias towards the Yankees don't you think someone would have noticed by now?
  10. I think so. They made a pretty big deal about it. Turns out it isn't easy to get umps to just change the strike zone they've been calling for years.
  11. I don't think they are near interesting enough to be hideous.
  12. One cool thing about an electronic strikezone is they can actually tweak the strikezone on the fly. Are you old enough to remember them trying to get Umps to adjust their strikezones? It didn't go well.
  13. If folks have a fetish for watching other folks adjust gloves I'm sure their is another outlet.
  14. You can DVR the game and pause it for 15 seconds between pitches.
  15. Looking forward to your findings.
  16. Let's say that Judge hits 30% better against the Orioles than he does against the rest of the league. I'd posit that 30% improvement is about the average for all ML hitters over that same time period. Obviously outliers are going to exist but the O's, over the length of Judge's career, have had many below league average pitchers suit up for them. It isn't surprising that Judge, or anyone else, puts up superior numbers against inferior competition.
  17. I'm guessing the difference is essentially mirrored among the general MLB populace from 2016-2023.
