It's about process. You follow the correct process.

You know what I've never seen in my life? An attempted bunt ending up becoming a double play. All the decades I've been following baseball I don't think it's ever happened. As I've already stated the expected run production from that situation is in excess of one. It isn't smart to play for one.

Run expectancy with runners on first and third and one out is 1.18038. That doesn't scream play for one to me.

I think certain hitters and pitchers will benefit a ton more than others. I also think that MLB can easily tweak what constitutes a strike to get the walk rate they want.
