Competitive Balance picks are awarded by market size and revenue. Record isn't a direct factor. I'd say the other stuff is more in the line of marginal benefits. The real benefit is to the owner's profits.

I get it but....if I had just spent the entirety of the last two seasons in the majors and I got sent down....I think I'd be doing my best to stay locked in. I'd also be worried about all the 0's the staff is putting up in my absence.

The changes to the draft de-incentivize tanking. It's going to be a lot more difiuclt to sell tanking to the fanbase when you don't get those fat draft picks.

It's not a big deal that's just the second time I've seen that comment today. Having an opt out doesn't automatically disqualify players from getting a QO. I think someone opted out last year and got hit with one.

Way to ignore the huge amount of data showing how poor his luck has been.

I acknowledge his flaws and if he continues to play as he has I'll be in favor of cutting bait before paying him Arb 2 money. He's got value at this price point even with his flaws.

I was advocating as far back as when Jim Johnson was the closer to only use the "designated closer" in save situations of 1-2 runs. Would limit their saves and lower their arbitration price. Any guy in the bullpen should be able to nail down a 3 run save.
