  1. Well he does, but he shares about as well as my Sister's cat. If he keeps pitching like this, he's going to opt out. I don't think he's on great terms with the team after last season. (that's speculation)
  2. Competitive Balance picks are awarded by market size and revenue. Record isn't a direct factor. I'd say the other stuff is more in the line of marginal benefits. The real benefit is to the owner's profits.
  3. If it isn't Grayson that's not ideal.
  4. I get it but....if I had just spent the entirety of the last two seasons in the majors and I got sent down....I think I'd be doing my best to stay locked in. I'd also be worried about all the 0's the staff is putting up in my absence.
  5. The changes to the draft de-incentivize tanking. It's going to be a lot more difiuclt to sell tanking to the fanbase when you don't get those fat draft picks.
  6. Hard to say. Most of the main Union guys are vets, are they going to look out for the younger guys or not? It was interesting they killed the International draft.
  7. Dubious honor at best....
  8. Pretty sure the rule is you can't be QO in consecutive years and you have to have played for the team for at least a full season. If I'm wrong I apologize.
  9. No one seems to know. One theory is it came from the Latin LGBTQ community as it is a non-gendered term. a 2021 Gallup poll shows only 4% of the Hispanic community uses the term.
  10. I'm giving you data. Actual data. Not hyperbole. Nothing prideful in that. I didn't create Statcast. A 10 year old could find the data I provided for you.
  11. I don't know anyone that wishes the term be used for them.

  13. It's not a big deal that's just the second time I've seen that comment today. Having an opt out doesn't automatically disqualify players from getting a QO. I think someone opted out last year and got hit with one.
  14. Way to ignore the huge amount of data showing how poor his luck has been.
  15. I acknowledge his flaws and if he continues to play as he has I'll be in favor of cutting bait before paying him Arb 2 money. He's got value at this price point even with his flaws.
  16. Why are people saying this? It isn't accurate. The Tigers can hit him with a QO and get a draft pick if he walks.
  17. I'm not sure that's a catch. It clearly gets loose, not sure if he regained control in time. Great effort tho, and if he didn't hold onto it, great job of hiding that fact.
  18. https://blogs.fangraphs.com/lets-admire-some-of-the-best-blockers-in-baseball/ https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/leaderboard/catcher-blocking Adley's current page, he's not having a good season in this regard so far. https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/leaderboard/catcher-blocking?players=668939-2023-110&selected_idx=0
  19. 100%. Oddly lackadaisical given the situation.
  20. Being a pessimist at heart, I'd say wait and see how he feels in the morning. Sure looks good today tho.
  21. Even with the HR his OPS+ is even lower this season (53)
  22. I was advocating as far back as when Jim Johnson was the closer to only use the "designated closer" in save situations of 1-2 runs. Would limit their saves and lower their arbitration price. Any guy in the bullpen should be able to nail down a 3 run save.
