Just because I am not in favor of having him start in the minors over fewer than 20 innings of spring training that does not mean I am discounting the idea of him ever being demoted over performance. No where have I suggested that he starts the season in the majors and stays there no matter what his results are.

Baseball age is determined on a set date. A season is either your age 35 season or your age 36 season. So while biologically it is possible it isn't possible as MLB records age.

Smart to have him play a position he doesn't have much experience with? If it was me, I'd be more anxious sitting in the dugout while my team plays defense without me. You adjust around the more talented players. You don't worry about Frazier at the expense of Gunnar. At least that's my view.

That's not true. They had many plans over those twenty years. They just weren't good plans for the most part. Jury is still out on exactly what the current plan is or how successful it will be.
