  1. Never thought I'd live to see the day that the word epic was used to describe Tate unironically.
  2. I think you are stating to get the older person perception of time passing.
  3. It's cool. They will just have Trout play professional basketball for a season.
  4. I expect we are going to start seeing societal consequences to the boom and normalization of gambling in the near future.
  5. So let me set the scene. It's two in the afternoon and 34 degrees...
  6. Yea, remember when those suckers picked up Nestor Cortes? He washed out of here and Seattle both!
  7. I feel bad for the poor bastards they are making live in the ballpark.
  8. Didn't say crazy wild. I said is wasn't right in line. I don't think right in line and within standard deviation mean the same thing.
  9. You'd be incorrect. If you give up as many runs as you score you should lose as many games as you win. Also the run differential wasn't +1 even if you remove the game in question.
  10. If you were to decide to arbitrarily remove 15 runs the O's would still have a +1 run differential for the season. That isn't in line with a 83-79 record. Going back and taking an actual look at the games in September the O's lost two big ones to the Red Sox one 17-4, one 13-9. Either one of those games, if removed, would still leave the O's with a negative run differential for the season.
  11. Dumb motto. Should have gone with "We are a safer bet than Crypto."
  12. I think things would have to go very wrong for his job to be in jeopardy. Might some fans turn on him...sure. But I don't see anything that makes me think ownership has any issues.
  13. Exactly, that is why I've been using the comparison.
  14. If you are of the mind that last season's team overachieved than you could improve the team and they could still finish with a worse record. The 2013 team had a superior run differential than the 2012 team and yet won fewer games.
  15. OK??? But how would they not have any of the blame? Oh well we had the top rated pitching prospect and he wasn't even good enough to beat out Wells. It happens!
  16. How would they not be at fault, at least to some degree, if their top 2 pitching prospects can't compete at the big league level? We going to blame Dan?
  17. Honestly if the team ends up at 78-84 you probably won't be able to point at the offseason as being the problem. Would take at least 88 wins in this scenario to make the playoffs. I don't think 10 additional wins were out there at anything close to a reasonable price.
  18. Eighty at bats of Odor are more palatable than 426. I haven't look at their farm in a hot minute but I'm guessing the are probably a bit thin in the upper minors right now.
  19. He's probably more upset about it than you are.
  20. I honestly think it's just because he bats lefty.
  21. I'm not saying it was the plan, but I think they had no trouble at all adjusting to the developing situation and they are not mad about it.
