  1. I clearly stated #1-#3. Would a #1-#3 pitcher not be at the top of this rotation? There was zero disinformation in my post. Heck I even specified what variety of WAR I was using. And by saying "that should solidly make him at least a #3 SP in this league" you are suggesting he's a #3 in my book.
  2. In 2021 he put up 2.0 fWAR and 1.3 rWAR, in 2022 he put up 1.4 fWAR and 2.1 rWAR. His ERA+ in those years was 97 and 94. If you accept the mindset that a 2.0 xWAR and 100 ERA+ is "average" he is a marginally below average pitcher. I like the trade, but he isn't a #3. I don't even think Elias is trying to pass him off as a #3. It's just you.
  3. I'm not in camp Vavra, I question if he brings enough defense to the table (and I'm not even a big defense first guy).
  4. Yea, that would be why I PUT 1-3 IN THE COMMENT. A #1-3 starter would be at the top of this rotation. No amount of GM speak makes any of the off-season acquisitions a #1-3 starter in this league. For once he flat out said something concrete.
  5. Well there is still time for that top of the rotation pitcher (#1-3) to join the team before the season starts.
  6. I think JA considers all payroll expenditures to be reaching into his pocket.
  7. So cross off the name of a guy we had no chance of going after in the first place? Got it.
  8. It's easy to find, but I won't provide actual evidence. KK sweet.
  9. It does make sense if you phrase it better. He's Japanese, he appeared to prefer playing on the west coast because of the relative proximity to Japan. He does not appear to care about Asian, but non-Japanese population centers. No one would say that an Ukrainian Basketball player will be more likely to sign with the Bucks because of the large German American population in Milwaukee.
  10. I'd say that Chen was undervalued because he'd has some injuries that he'd been dealing with that had sapped his velocity. He got fully healthy with the O's and the velocity came back.
  11. You did see the contract that the Red Sox gave Yoshida right? He got 5/90 and the Sox paid a 15M posting fee. That doesn't sound undervalued to me. Of course we have no idea if the Orioles would even be willing to partake in the posting system and if they aren't, any players they get will be older.
  12. The thing is that is often the pitcher who was on the better team. Or the pitcher that got lucky with run support.
  13. Looking forward to people complaining about their participation. Aside from a couple of injuries that was as close to perfect as you could hope for.
  14. My rule to drinking out was to get the buzz before I left and just maintain. It's a lot cheaper.
  15. I don't see where you get probably from. Does Frazier have that reputation? I googled "Is Adam Frazier known as a good mentor" and I'm not seeing a ton. There is this ....interesting...piece. https://athletesinaction.org/articles/the-best-thing-i-learned-from-adam-frazier/ I now know more about his feeling about lust than I ever wanted to. Can you help me out with these sources? I hope it's more than just some guys talking up a teammate.

Who wants to get the new thread started?
  17. I'm guessing about things will come to a head within the next five years that could result in some changes.
  18. And those would be the times I'd prefer it!
  19. Sure but that says more about the O's at second last season. Urias is projected to put up 2.6 WAR if he got as much playing time at second as Frazier is projected at. Westburg is projected at 1.675 over the same about of playing time. Most times I'd rather have 1.675 WAR for the league minimum than 1.8 for 8M.
  20. Someone needs to let them know that the 80's revival is over and everyone is nostalgic for the 90's now.
  21. Is that a fat joke? If so I approve.
  22. That's so Orioles. Optional music content below.
