  1. When Mountcastle was 24 he was hitting 33 HR in the MLB and Roy wants him gone.
  2. You saw the 45, 54, 50 up at the top right? That's not a lot of value with the bat when you consider he has zero value with the glove and can't run. If this was 2021 and they were bringing someone like this on I'd be for it. I don't want to deal with a project in a pennant race.
  3. I posted his statcast sheet 12 minutes ago.
  4. Yea, I don't consider an 84 game season being stud worthy. He's yet to put up a two win season (either flavor of WAR).
  5. Bat speed is at 73.9, good but not great. For a guy with no speed or positional value I'd like to see more red with the bat. I don't think this is the time or the place to see if they can fix him.
  6. I've seen little evidence that the Yankees want to part ways with Cashman.
  7. Well he's certainly been busy.
  8. This allows Elias to not promote Mayo
  9. He's also really good at rebuilding them.
  10. I didn't say easy. I didn't say they didn't give up value. But how wasn't it safe? Trading depth for a proven pitcher on a one year deal. That's safe.
  11. I loved the Burnes trade but come on, it was a safe move. He traded depth and only took on a one year commitment.
  12. How many guys did well in 2021 and are out of the majors in 2024? That's a lifetime ago in professional sports. This trade isn't betting on a return to 2021.
  13. I don't either. Perfectly reasonable move. Just like Flaherty was last season.
  14. Let me put it this way. I'm sure the scenario I posited has happened at some point. Some folks sell something for five bucks won't buy it back for 20 even if they need it.
  15. I don't think they do. I think they have their system tuned to focus on college bats.
  16. I don't know. I don't think so but it would be humbling to bring back a guy that you traded low on a couple years prior.
  17. It's just like pretty much all the other trades in which he's added. It's perfectly reasonable and low stakes.
  18. Or trading for Scott would show he made a mistake trading him away in the first place.
