  1. My thing is that he doesn't even have to do it all the time (nor should he). Maybe once every ten game window or so in situations where it's smart to do so. Demonstrate to opponents that it is a move in his arsenal. If he shows competence with it, it certainly won't get rid of opponents shifting on him, but it may force opponents to reduce the severity of some of these shifts.
  2. The "lost a ton of weight" part of the assessment is accurate. You can see it in his build and musculature between these two pictures, not just in his face.
  3. They have. https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/red-sox-pitcher-eduardo-rodriguez-confirms-hes-dealing-with-heart-issue-stemming-from-covid-19-infection/ Where do you think he's getting his diagnosis from?
  4. ERod is a pro athlete in solid shape, 27 years of age, who had no history of any heart issue prior to the present time. The odds of it being caused by anything else are slim to none.
  5. Could we not have the Marlins anywhere near our guys until the remaining Marlins players have been confirmed negative for covid, please? That'd be great. Thanks.
  6. What about the remaining Marlins players and coaches on the roster? I know MLB has achieved a pretty fast pipeline for testing, but I thought there were still delays between tests and results. If you bring in replacement guys before confirming the remaining ones are clear, you risk going through this all over again.
  7. Also pretty telling that several players have been taking the field mask-on.
  8. I was of the opinion that we shouldn't have started it in the first place. 2020 is a lost year for many things... no reason baseball should have been any different.
  9. Right. The issues are that asymptomatic people in the general public either don't have the motive to test, or that there aren't enough testing resources to randomly test in most places.
  10. Rather than making a new thread, we'll just put this here, since it's related. The Marlins aren't travelling until tomorrow and will get in just a couple of hours before game time. https://www.nbcmiami.com/news/local/miami-marlins-postpone-trip-home-amid-fear-of-coronavirus-outbreak/2267829/
  11. 30 years old, just made his debut with the Rays toward the end of last year. A late bloomer perhaps?
  12. I've heard four of them are currently out with it. Alfaro, Cooper, Ramirez and Urena
  13. Hey, I'm not saying that I agree with them doing it. I'm just saying that's what they did. ?
  14. Because you're contracting "riole" out of the word.
  15. If Nike will be kind enough to pay the rest of the Chris Davis contract, we're willing to make that serif off of the S in the Orioles logo into swoosh. What do you say, Nike? ?
  16. It's definitely two, they've shown the set up before.
  17. Robbed him of a BS Fenway Little League homer. Love it.
  18. Yeah, stats say the sac move somewhat increases the chance of scoring at least one run in the inning in that scenario, but lowers your chance of a big inning quite a lot. Just about what you'd expect.
  19. But hey, it worked that time, so what do I know? ?
  20. Not a fan of the sac bunt there. Expected runs per inning, first and second, no outs: 1.46 Expected runs per inning, second and third, one out: 1.36
  21. If the closest infielder has shifted off to Nebraska somewhere, all he's really got to do is get it by the pitcher and keep it fair.
  22. Who's the third, I wonder?
  23. Meh. As long as we don't need them today, I'll save those six runs for tomorrow.
