  1. You mean last season? We weren't trying to sign anyone then. That's from March 2022.
  2. Ew lol. You might be right though. I am hoping for Bassitt or Eovaldi on a miracle short term deal and Conforto/Brantely on a 1 or 2 year deal.
  3. Gotta hand it to him, he's got a lot of chutzpah. No way this is true, of course, but this guy just keeps on going.
  4. Fair points. I'm sure Eovaldi and Bassitt would prefer more years as they are possibly looking at their last "big" contract. I could stomach three years for either one at $18-20M per season; I wonder what the multi-year offers are that Elias keeps talking about.
  5. I agree. From an offensive standpoint, I think Brantley at 2 years $26-32 is a worthwhile investment as a DH and occasional left fielder. From the pitching side of things, it is definitely less clear, though perhaps you can convince Eovaldi/Bassitt to sign a 2 year deal (likely would take three) at a higher AAV.
  6. End of the day, this isn't a terrible strategy. It's frustrating because we as fans want to see the team bring in good players who likely require longer commitments. But if they can, for instance, sign Bassitt for 3 years 60 or so, and Brantley for one or two years at $12-15M per season, that would be a fine offseason.
  7. Not penniless. But the Angeloses deserve to keep their money and cry poor that we cannot afford any upgrades on the free agent market.
  8. The A's signed Aledmys Diaz, joining in on the fun. Andrus replacement?
  9. Right. And arguably, the payroll will never be lower. Choose your free agents wisely, but this should not just be a punt year.
  10. Seems like a lot for Jansen, especially considering the Red Sox probably won't have that many wins for him to close out this year. I mean, who exactly is in their rotation?
  11. I wonder if they are also in on Bassitt, and if not, why
  12. More silliness from this guy. Take with all the grains of salt you want (I am taking with several)
  13. I'm honestly expecting us to sign Taillon tomorrow to a four year deal in the $60M range (ugh) and be done until another Mazara=type signing in January/February. But I don't know.
  14. Should take them out on Rodon. Figure Yankees or Angels or a dark horse team like the Orioles.
  15. Just a counter move to our big signing of Mazara
  16. Agreed, but relatively low risk with two years (and the opt out).
  17. Cross him off the list. Signs in CLE.
  18. Oh, I don't really want Belt. WAs just trying to guess who they are after.
