  1. Good stuff from Mike Elias here. He predicts that we will address the MLB roster as soon as possible.
  2. My philosophy is simple. Sign good bats because the team obviously needs better players to help them win. If the bat DHs, you will find spots for the other players coming up during the season, whether through injuries, players struggling, matchups, etc. But that should not preclude us from adding bats to help the team be better.
  3. This is pretty much where I'm at. Also kick the tires on Arenado if he opts out.
  4. Going with Cowser. I have been impressed with his rise through the ranks, and think (hope) at this time next year, he'll be starting in the outfield along with Stowers and one of Santander/Mullins/Hays. I can see him putting up a high 700-low 800 OPS in his first season, and could see him coming up by June.
  5. Well, they cant bench Odor. Veteranosity and stuff like that!
  6. So he's a better hitter than Adley? Who gets on base at a significantly higher clip and has a higher OPS?
  7. The funny thing about Nevin is... he NEVER plays. There is literally no reason for him to be on the roster now, let alone for the bulk of the season.
  8. It's not as awful as not pitching Britton, sure. But it's still indefensible. Just because Buck failed to use Britton doesn't make this head scratcher more sensible.
  9. LOL. Cause heaven forbid they call up their best prospect, who has been mashing at AAA all year, when their offense is down and they're in a pennant race. Mind boggling.
  10. It's absurd. There is zero rationale/logic behind it.
  11. God I hope so. Would be idiotic to fire him.
  12. Good post re: sliders and curves. I agree.
  13. Palmer was spot on (as usual) yesterday about Mountcastle's struggles. He can't hit center cut 93 right down the middle. I know he's a streaky hitter. Let's hope he gets into one of those white hot stages in September, especially in the Toronto games, and we should have a good shot at the playoffs.
  14. Would ike to see Stowers starting more with Hays getting a day off, but I guess with his homer yesterday, they wanted to keep him in the lineup. I have no problem with Odor over Vavra today, as Vavra has looked a bit lost lately after the absurd reaching base 10-11 times. Overall, I'm okay with this. Let's see if we can pull a miracle and beat the AL Cy Young favorite.
  15. And against some really good hitters. A red hot Sheets, and Robert, Abreu, and Jimenez.
  16. Yup, yesterday's loss really hurt. The Wednesday loss to the Jays sucked but was filed under the "Oh well" column. Yesterday, in a pennant race, is a must win. That simple.
  17. Agreed. Nearly as a good a chance he gets a hit or walk than getting a good sacrifice bunt down.
  18. Love Ced. We all do. But wait for your freaking pitch! It's 1-0. It's an up and in fastball. WHY ARE YOU SWINGING?
