Palmer is an absolute joy to listen to for me, best commentator in baseball in my humble opinion.

I could listen to Palmer teach a calculus class.  Just love his calm voice.

One extremely basic rule of broadcasting is “don’t talk over your partner” and Garceau was doing that constantly. Sheesh.

Agreed.  I wanted to hear what Palmer had to say, not Scott.

And his command was amazing.  Even the balls he threw were "good balls" - just missing off the plate on the fastball, or just missing down on the changeup.  Pitches I expected the Red Sox to chase and they didn't.  Easily the best start we have ever seen from him.

I'm looking forward to chanting "Zero Point Zero" when the Orioles clinch the AL East in September.

I almost forgot how much I enjoy watching baseball. Today was a great game. Means was outstanding, Ruiz made some great plays, Mountcastle with the big hit. And Jim Palmer was cracking me up talking about Joe West and his CD.

    FACTS.

I missed Palmer in the booth.  Just imagine how great it would have been if it was Palmer and Thorne.

I thought it would be nice to have a thread where we could post any cuts from other teams that the O's might (or should) have interest in

    Rougned Odor is one.

Those injury figures include your brands too. For example, from trials: "For Moderna 81.9% experienced any systemic reaction. Grade 3 reactions (considered severe) were experienced by 17.4%. This is 79X more likely than the incidence of severe Covid in the Moderna group." (source) That's from just one risk-benefit analysis. I'm not intending to hash it all out here... just wondering why the O's and MLB aren't showing more caution toward their valuable human assets, regarding this experimental gene therapy with such minimal possible benefit to the players.

If you cannot understand that the reward outweighs the risk in terms of vaccinating players, not only for the Orioles but for everyone, I don't know what to tell ya.

If he is released and we are bound to his current contract, I pick him up in a heartbeat.  He hasn’t been that good the last few years but he just turned 27 and has big power for the position.

We should represent a good opportunity for him as he can play everyday and hit in a good park.

Agreed.  .750 OPS in 2018, .722 OPS in 2019, so not great, but very likely better than what we currently have.  According to BBRef, he was worth 1.8 dWar in 2018, but at 0 in 2019 and -0.4 last year.
