  1. So Jordan Lyles, Tyler Wells, Dean Kremer, Austin Voth, Kyle Bradish, and Spenser Watkins are our rotation? i have no idea how we are where we are.
  2. He was way behind it and it went to right.. he was not intentionally driving it to right
  3. All their pitchers with 5 and 6 run ERAs but look like Cy Young tonight
  4. You wonder if you could have the pitcher cover second when you have a shift like that and a grounder with guy on first? Not so much on that play, but one that he got to a little faster.
  5. These guys having all kinds of problems throwing strikes tonight. They just put zero pressure on the hitters tonight. Fortunately the Reds are awful
  6. It is the “every once in a while” that is the problem. But it is the way the game is played now.. for the home run
  7. Overswinging… every guy trying only to hit home runs .. lousy lousy at bats up and down the lineup. And why Odor has to plsy EVERY game? Is there a reason they called this Vevra kid up ? Just to sit?
  8. Krehbiel was AWFUL .. twice 2 strikes and let them walk, 3-2 and then hits a guy.. all over the daggone place
  9. Does any pitcher on this team know how to throw strike one?
  10. This is the kind of game where Earl would get himself tossed to wake up the guys.
  11. Minor with a 6.65 ERA … 6.65 and our hitters just swinging at every damn pitch he throws Worst offensive approach of the entire season thus far Last time we played bad teams we ran through them to accumulate a 10 game streak But this kind of playing down to the opponent is much more the norm for us
  12. Exactly. His swing path is ALL pull.. he has not gone with a pitch to right field in a month. Mancini same way. When these guys slump it is usually they are trying to pull every pitch. And the entire lineup has had a terrible approach to Minor thus far who puts that junk outside and waits for our undisciplined hitters to go chasing.
  13. Chico was obtained for another favorite player when I was a 11 year old boy … Gene Brabender… last name always induced 11year old hysterics. “And Brabender is coming in to pitch.” But Chico was one lousy fielder. In fact, while he was still with the team, the Orioles had a mock award named the Chico Salmon No Touch Award "to recognize fielding prowess that had all the deftness of a rhinoceros knitting," according to Jim Palmer.
  14. Curt Blefary was my favorite when I was a kid. Him and then Chico Salmon.
  15. There was a time when the Nolan Reimold fan club was a definite thing on the board. I remember commenting when he retired that at least he wouldn’t be in the active threads any longer …. Hmmmm.
  16. Ken Rosenthal in Athletic made this speculation As a surprise wild-card contender, would they move three additional years of club control with Cedric Mullins for three of right-hander José Urquidy if the Astros also were willing to include center fielder Jose Siri and prospects in a larger deal? https://theathletic.com/3456688/2022/07/28/astros-padres-trade-deadline-starters/?source=user_shared_article
  17. Overall we are 27-33 against over 500 teams and 23-16 against sub 500 teams
  18. So… to update… since the Orioles were at 30-39, they have gone 20-10. Losing teams played were WSH- 1 game, CHW-4 games, LAA - 4 games, CHCubs -2 games Sea 3 games , Tex 3 games (although a winning team now they were under .500 then) winning teams played were TB 7 games, NYY 4 games Min 3 games We have gone 14-3 against the sub 500 teams during this last 30 game stretch and 6-7 against over 500 teams
  19. About 500 of Brooks’ plays not captured on either TV or film. Frank Robinson catch at Yankee Stadium falling into the seats Back to back home runs by Frank and Brooks Robinson in 1st inning off Don Drysdale in 1966 Series
