  1. Bradish and Grod have reasonable possibility for 2024 of being a good 1-2 top, Means is the wildcard.. his past performance could land him right there at top or he could be a lesser starter, Kremer can be a reasonable 3-5 next season. i agree with the depth possibilities you list and any of them could step up and be a reliable 4-5 next year.. or a signing obviously. DL Hall is yet another uncertainty.. i think he is destined to be a high leverage BP guy but could still be in mix next spring Wells could also advance enough to be starter but feel too he may be a BP piecein 2024 McDermott with Povich as a wild card are still a step away I believe
  2. Could be right .. but he has surprised throughout his advance through system. He may be the most advanced young player ever in our system in history.
  3. And that he is the best bat in our farm system
  4. Excellent post and agree with the sentiments!! My younger brother passed 13 years ago and was a huge Os fan and I hope to put a championship pennant on his grave!! Go Os!!
  5. It isn’t where I live and MLB TV still blocks me out .. .. and why should I have to get cable service anyway to watch MLB?
  6. Every bit of this thread is Peter Angelos’s fault
  7. Umm.. he is an ex-Oriole. This thread needs to be moved to MLB or Orioles history section.
  8. More of what he says to fans and reporters
  9. Fan is short for “fanatic”. If I am not overthinking or worrying, then some might mistake that for me not caring and seeing it as “just another game” when it is , in fact, a life and death cage match every night and day. At least when we are in a season that means something. During the lost years, I would not get near as intense lol
  10. I believe it is a minor factor at best and Elias uses talent and budget as 99 percent. And I will lol
  11. “Helping us” is not “primary factor” like your last article claimed . We just disagree .. what is Elias going to say to a reporter. “Oh character makes no difference to us”.. what he says in quotes to reporters is good PR and no doubt it’s true that the guys get along well together . But I believe Mike is quite capable of being ruthless and uses value and talent and plan as 99 percent of his calls. Obviously if somebody is a sociopath, sure, he factors that in.
  12. The article first two thirds talks about improving the team, trading away prospects “not hugs” , value, talent, upgrades, etc The writer says Elias is “cognizant”- cognizant means “aware of” it .. not that it is even a major factor in trades or signings . And it is the writer who creates the statement “primary reason why the team has been best in the big leagues” out of whole cloth. Is that a quote from Elias? No it isn’t as It has no quotation marks. I find it hard to believe Elias actually said that .. that “clubhouse chemistry” is the “primary reason” the club is winning. i think that is the writer’s take … period
  13. I would not have signed him in the first place and I only hope they see something fixable. But we shall see.
  14. Good , I am glad we agree. It isn’t a factor. Talent and winning go together. Lopez gets a verrry short leash, nice guy or not.
  15. Each player you mentioned was kept almost exclusively because of their contributions..I am not going to refight the Adam Frazier debate but for you to suggest he and Lopez are both on this team for team chemistry is just not so or to compare their contributions is also silly. Plus Chirinos was a backup catcher.. was it feel good to have a backup catcher or necessary for every team? . Odor was signed to do what Frazier has done much better.. the only chemistry I gleaned from him was belting Jose Bautista and that was before he was on this team!! Lopez was signed to pitch.. not for some fan’s idea of “chemistry “.
  16. If he has even one blowup outing, he needs to be waivered off this team.
  17. This is silly. Lopez has been awful and the expectations (and his leash) hopefully are very low and verrry short. He was signed to pitch.. not to make himself or others feel good. If he gets hammered even once then he needs to be waivered.
  18. No I agree. I believe they think they can fix whatever it is that was fixed when he was here
  19. Well he is the clear number 1 starter on the team with the best record in the AL… sounds like it to me. I am usually subjectively glad and relieved when his turn comes up , like yesterday after a loss and Rays coming hard .. which is a reaction I have had very seldom to Os starters since Mike Mussina left.. maybe Bedard for a bit there I am much happier we have him rather than Dylan Bundy lol
  20. Ummm the sanitized Earl version … love it !! There were a few words on George Carlin’s list when the Earl was actually going off lol
  21. Maybe he just has had a crabcake deficiency
