  1. There is a 0% chance he will be unless the new ownership group decides they want to find a way to be worse than the old one.
  2. You honestly think a largely symbolic ownership share is going to give Cal the right to tell Elias and Hyde how to deploy their roster? Insanity. Gunnar is likely going to be close to full time at SS, but that has absolutely nothing to do with Cal.
  3. Cal will not be making personnel decisions.
  4. To be fair - it's really hard to determine what fair value is for top players. I'm shocked we got Burnes for this package.
  5. If you don't like this trade you aren't ever going to like a trade. We could have paid 2x for a pitcher with more control, but how does that make the trade any less risky?
  6. I'm pretty sure it means that the team is valued at $1.7B in the deal so they are paying 40% of of that right now.
  7. What about how they played makes you think getting to the post-season was enough for them? The team went down 7 runs and battled the entire way. Sometimes a young starter implodes and sometimes you lose games, but questioning if the team actually cares about winning is absurd.
  8. I like the idea of DHing Hicks and then being able to flip him with O'Hearn or Kjerstad later in the game when we're up against a RHP. I'm honestly expecting to see Mateo start, but probably prefer Westburg + Urias.
  9. What does you buying a ticket package for home playoff tickets have to do with the concert or the time of the game? No one is going to prevent you from using those tickets - it's not like the game is going to get cancelled or played on the road.
  10. I've been saying this is the move and I 100% agree with you. Felix deserves to have that sell out crowd screaming for him to start off the series.
  11. Oh you're right. For some reason I thought both of those things happened, but it was just his retirement.
  12. He was back recently for Jones retirement as an Oriole.
  13. They won 101 games this year. You didn't watch any of them?
  14. This team has been absurdly consistent this year. They are the best Os team in over 40 years. If you're feeling too negative to watch the playoffs then I don't think you'll ever be happy with this team. I honestly can't imagine feeling pessimistic right now.
  15. Well, that's obviously not the case because he literally just did this same thing a week ago.
  16. He was at the celebration a week ago. They interviewed him and he was talking about how much he enjoys the champagne celebrations and watching the young guys experience it for the first time. Where are you getting sobriety issue?
  17. The future is going to look significantly worse if Angelos doesn't spend to keep some of our homegrown talent. He's made a point of saying it will be really hard for us to do that and that the fans will have to pay for it (despite the fact that the team has been massively profitable while he's spent virtually nothing). He's also playing games with the city I live in -- while they're offering him a fantastic deal -- because he's obsessed with squeezing every last penny out of every situation. He cares way more about profitability than winning, which isn't a good trait for an owner to have. Maybe he ends up spending to keep the run going, but I'm not holding my breath based on how he's acted so far and the public comments he's made.
  18. Elias and Sig's results have been about as close to perfect as you're ever going to get. Every front office makes moves that don't work out, but they're on a massive heater right now when it comes to drafting, development and building a winning baseball team.
  19. I'd expect Holliday to perform well enough to stick with the team. I'm not sure if he'll be ready out of camp, but I think a year of control during his prime is way more valuable than 2 weeks of games when he's figuring things out at 20. I know everyone hates service time manipulation, but our owner is way too cheap for us to ignore the benefits.
  20. Unless I've missed something about the current ability to manipulate service time - you don't see how the Os might value an extra season of Holliday at 25-26 over a few weeks 20?
  21. Even if he looks ready they could easily send him down to AAA for a few weeks to try and gain an extra year of control. It might not end up working out, but that extra year could be absurdly assuming he lives up to the hype. It's not like we don't have plenty of options to hold down 2B and as you said it's totally possible that Westburg or Ortiz could be better in '24.
  22. You're way overshooting at 85%.
  23. The concert isn't at Camden - it's at M&T Bank.
