  1. Heston definitely looks like he wants to be the next guy to have that chat with Buck Britton.
  2. I'll be excited if we take a pitcher, but I'm at the point where I'm giving Elias and Sig 100% benefit of the doubt with whoever they take. I was annoyed when they went Cowser over Lawlar and I'm pretty happy with how that turned out. I was cool with Holliday, but would have gone Jones and I'm incredibly pleased with how that looks so far. Hoping we grab more arms in the draft than we have the past few years, but it doesn't necessarily need to be in R1.
  3. Was his number at Norfolk. I'd imagine that's the one he's been wanting.
  4. This 100%. In the past we've had one top callup (i.e Manny / Mountcastle) at most to get excited about. This year we've seen numerous including Cowser (#14 per MLBPL) and Westburg (#32 per MLBPL) in the past week. Many are rightfully excited about the potential these players have based on their high rankings and performance in AAA. Obviously that doesn't mean they will immediately step in and be All Star caliber players, but it's totally possible they can be difference makers for the club. Zach Neto and Matt McClain have been worth nearly 2 bWAR so far this year and both were ranked lower than Cowser and Westburg when they came up.
  5. Maybe not, but they just made the move with Cowser. Might be feeling the heat.
  6. This definitely seems like the sort of performance that could trigger a promotion. Maybe they want to see one more good one from him, but I hope they make the move now.
  7. You literally just said we're probably getting swept if we lose tonight. That's you trying to be positive?
  8. Are you joking? Wells was getting hit hard when he was pulled.
  9. We literally aren't. The entire AL East is basically playing .500 ball. You just don't watch other teams play.
  10. Isn't that more of a reason to be excited and impressed by their results?
  11. This team has the 3rd best record in the MLB. At what point will you not be miserable?
  12. He apparently took BP, so maybe?
  13. Conveniently we're the best road team in the league.
  14. If we lose this game we may win the next 3 and be up 6 on the Yankees.
  15. The guy leading the MLB in WHIP and pitching great is a nice 4th or 5th starter? How many teams have 3 guys pitching better than him?
  16. Love seeing the bats wake up. O'Hearn has had two great ABs.
  17. Seems like he was moved to primarily playing against LHP prior to Westburg being HBP yesterday.
  18. Apparently Westburg took BP. I'd assume they are trying not to use both.
  19. Just such a disappointing end to that inning. Had a real chance to do damage and get to their pen early in a 4 game series.
  20. Really nice efficient 1st inning from Wells. Love to see it.
  21. I do like the idea of making a move for one of their arms, though. Giolito might be pretty affordable.
  22. Seems like it would be best to really let him start mashing down there before bringing him up. Very little reason to rush him.
  23. I hope some of them go on to have good careers elsewhere. It shows we've done a good job drafting / evaluating talent. Obviously, I hope we keep the right guys, but it won't be a bad thing if we trade Norby or Stowers and they end up being really good in the long run. I just hope we get good value when we move some of our prospects.
  24. Totally possible, but Jake wasn't the only one that has been critical of the coaching. Britton had some pretty scathing comments and it's absurd we didn't let Arrieta use his cutter.
  25. Your point was that you were frustrated that they gave up Hader and he ended up being great. The way you phrased it implied that the Orioles didn't think he was going to be good, but in reality they traded him for Bud Norris because they needed another SP to win the division / make the ALCS the following year. It's very likely the Orioles believed in his talent. The Arrieta situation is obviously frustrating, but I mostly place the blame on the pitching coaches rather than the decision to move on when we did. At the time he was out of options and he wasn't helping a team that was on it's way to the playoffs. They needed to move him.
