  1. We love R/L matchups. I've been wondering if Westburg's extreme reverse splits are a reason we don't seem to be as high on him. Stowers had them as well and the team refused to use him against lefties when we called him up.
  2. There are 7 in there. Hays and Urias are RH.
  3. You want to bring up Westburg to play against LHP when he's got an OPS of .684 against LHP in AAA (compared to 1.039 against RHP)? He's been a pretty massive reverse splits guy through the minors.
  4. Voth has been way better than Rodriguez in recent weeks. The development of both Rodriguez and Hall is also in consideration.
  5. This is an absurd post. They are in completely different scenarios.
  6. Yeah, I've heard all the interviews about how the analytics folks provide Hyde with data (and most likely an "optimal lineup") before each game. I'd just be surprised if he was taking that as gospel everyday -- even if that's just moving a few folks up and down. There is potential for a middle ground.
  7. I'd be pretty surprised if Hyde had 0 control over the lineup day to day.
  8. You've posted here 344 times. Based on the tone of most of them you don't seem to enjoy baseball very much.
  9. It's absurd for anyone to blame McKenna for not making that grab. Maybe Mullins makes a spectacular play, but that's pretty irrelevant since McKenna isn't competing with Mullins for the starting CF job. I'm not some huge McKenna supporter and I was absolutely annoyed when he dropped that ball in Boston, but hearing people continually post that they "still haven't forgiven him" is getting old. He's having a solid year and he's a fine 4th OFer. I'm all good with moving on from him eventually, but even when we bring up Cowser they will probably want another RH bat out there and it's always good to have speed on the bench.
  10. They have not specified, but Hyde said he should be back for the Texas series.
  11. They put him on the IL today, but he's been out hurt this week.
  12. Just gave the most recent episode of "Future Projection" (Baseball America Podcast) a listen. They start talking about Jackson as the best prospect in baseball around 2:30 in and go for about 20 minutes before discussing the other top guys from last year's draft. Link below if anyone is interested:
  13. It will not cost a ≈ top 100 prospect to get someone to take whatever is left of Fraziers salary ($4-5M?). That is insane. We could easily cut him at that point, but he's also been worth .8 bWAR thus far. I guess you have fun with hyperbole.
  14. Seemed like they just wanted to give Young some reps at SS at Norfolk. Would assume the plan has always been for him to prioritize SS, but it's good for him to have the versatility to do both.
  15. Seems like they should be able to give him as many reps at 1B at Norfolk as they'd want. Not like we have any premium prospects playing the position on that team.
  16. I find it funny that people are suggesting 3-4 top 100 prospect packages (including Gunnar). There are 0 competitive teams that could match that offer and Cease certainly isn't worth it the way he is pitching. He will definitely cost a big haul, but we definitely shouldn't be giving something similar to the Soto deal.
  17. Bradish and Kremer were both productive last year. You seriously think a guy with a 6+ ERA in AAA who hasn't been good in half a decade would help? We can't give up on every pitcher that goes through a rough patch.
  18. I'd rather Santander lose starts in the OF if Hays is ok.
  19. Santander doesn't need to be traded. He is what he is. He can DH, pinch hit or get cut after this year. There isn't a lot of value there and he's only under team control through next year.
  20. Hard to gauge. It's an afternoon game today and the Os are off. Could easily send him to catch up with the team afterwards if they needed to.
  21. First off that's just under a 1 to 2 strikeout ratio. Second off this isn't the first time he's struggled professionally -- he had rough patches in 2021. Generally speaking a .744 OPS for a young player just getting started in their first 44 games is fine. We obviously want him to be better - he will be.
  22. If he can keep that rolling through May I don't think a midseason call up is out of the question. We definitely value defense and he should be able to comfortably hold down LF or RF at home while also providing an option to backup Mullins.
  23. I hope he convinces Jackson to adopt his hairstyle!
  24. I think they might have heard you...
  25. I love that they are having fun. I hope it continues.
