However, to play Devil’s Advocate I’ll just say they could probably get a pretty good haul for an athletic SS who has started to figure it out offensively. Give him another two months of sustained production and there’s gonna be offers.

Yeah, the thought on trading him is really only if someone was willing to overpay, but that isn’t happening until he has a track record of success. I touted him all of last year and really feel like he deserved consideration for a GG. I’m fine with enjoying the fruits of his labors in the meantime. He makes games exciting to watch.

Stowers defense is better than reported and again, .996 OPS at Norfolk so far. So, no.

And I never said Stowers is an “automatic” upgrade.

And one year of HR hitting without looking at the whole picture isn’t evidenced based either. It’s selective rationalization or conformation bias, but you go ahead. Santander is a defensive liability and he looks awful except for a few ABs this year. His speed has declined and yes, Stowers is a better long term solution.

What are you on about? He’s had four ML ABs and his OPS at Norfolk is .996, for God’s sake. Santander, otoh is -0.4 WAR and has a .642 OPS as a ML starter. Not so ridiculous.

Santander should NOT get 4-5 starts per week. He looks mediocre at best, bellows replacement level otherwise. He looks slower in the OF. Stowers should be an upgrade.
