  1. Late to the party, one of many things I haven’t seen until now, but the answer is no.
  2. Koufax was, in general, otherworldly in ‘66 and JP outpitched him. No small feat.
  3. Very impressive OP. It’s refreshing to see OH still brings in people of this caliber.
  4. Wait, he doesn’t like Applebee’s?
  5. Wells and Means are nice stories, but I hope we have others who are actually #2-3. Means needs his CH to be effective and Wells needs to miss more bats. Coming off TJ there will be many questions to be answered for Means. Staying healthy would be number one. Wells’ road is less complicated, but still no less of a climb for him to be a mid rotation guy. His walk rate is fine, but his SO rate needs work. Then again, as a R5 guy it’s a nice problem to have with Wells. Similarly, no one expected Means to produce as he has.
  6. Thanks….wonder who is affected most by that trade. Will Irvin and Gibson be traded if the young guys are doing well and the team is competitive? I doubt it.
  7. Twenty people believe there’s a trade before the season that changed the offseason? Hmm I said it when Elias was hired. Nothing of any significance will change until there’s new ownership. Actually, I questioned his ability to perform his duties with the current ownership. I’m still waiting for an impact signing. However, I think they may have a chance with the young guys. Of course, that assumes a big season from Adley, Gunnar and GrayRod and it’s likely at least one of that group has growing pains. I also hope Hall gets a real shot as a SP. Too many people didn’t recognize the strides he made in season and he’s always been a starter. His stint in the pen was useful, but that kid has electric stuff. Don’t get me wrong, Elias has been ok, but how much could he do if they loosened the purse strings? Yes, I know, the Frazier signing, but how bout that Gibson guy!
  8. I had forgotten he won the CYA in 1979, but his 1984 was his best. He threw 122 innings and had 45 saves pitching to an ERA+ of 227. More of a strike out pitcher early with the Cubs and then more pitch to contact with the Cards.
  9. HOF pitcher passed away at the age of 69.
  10. Tucker with a bomb and Alive with a spectacular play to save a run.
  11. I really want Verlander but I’ll settle for Rodon and I think Manaea is a good bounce back guy who can be head cheap. Well, that’s three, but failing one of those or adding one more I’d go after Rizzo.
  12. Similar to what SG said, a year ago I would have said,”Heck, yeah!” But today Henderson is my guy at SS going forward.
  13. The rush would be Henderson. Let me be clear, I was one of Mateo’s biggest cheerleaders during the season, but Henderson needs to play the position at which he’s most comfortable. I agree with the second part of the statement, Mateo has value as a super sub or utility guy. I’d sure like it if he could hit, but I don’t see it.
  14. The Phils are looking unimpressed by the champs.
  15. Padres….I always pull for teams which have either never been to or win a WS.
  16. Have you adjusted your projection for him as a starter or do you believe it’s just a likelihood they trade him for established pitching? I still see him as a starter with starter stuff.
  17. Is this because you value Mateo at short or because you don’t think Henderson can handle it?
  18. I like it! But probably the Mariners because they’ve never been there. TB after that because they haven’t won a WS.
