I wouldn’t put any of the guys you named in the same sentence with Greinke. He’s been successful without over powering hitters for some time now. While I do prefer guys who can throw hard, it’s meaningless without knowing how to pitch. Greinke knows how to pitch.

I know Greinke isn’t what he used to be, but I think it's a mistake not to use him, even in a limited innings capacity, to start a WS game. There’s no substitute for big game experience.

That’s right, you can’t. And I’m just saying there is nothing to show that limiting innings for guys, many of whom had a year of doing nothing, helps to prevent injury. Gray Rod had 94 IP in 2019 and 103 over two leagues this year. Why no decrease in his innings?

And you are sure it was due to his workload (or, lack thereof)? The Orioles do have more information than me, but there’s no chance he was headed for the injury regardless?

They had a year off in most cases. There is nothing that shows less work after no work is a plan that prevents arm injuries.

What is the basis for limiting their innings in the first place?
