I would rather see us spend money on the FA market than give up prospects. We will have tons of payroll flexibility in the coming years due to our young roster and Davis coming off the books after 2022 (besides the deferred money). One of the young SS on the market should still be in their prime when we’re competing again.

Our payroll is like $60 million this year. We could sign Seager and still be well under $100 million next year.

The Blue Jays love trading pretty good prospects for marginal upgrades. Are we sure Dan Duquette isn’t running their front office after all? I’d barely even consider them a playoff contender.

The two worst nicknames in pro sports are the Guardians and Kraken. Seattle should’ve gone with Sockeyes and Cleveland should’ve gone with Spiders. People come up with some dumb nicknames nowadays. Although Golden Knights sounds pretty cool and they have great uniforms.
