  1. Do we need a new thread for every player who is DFA? Perhaps someone could create a singular DFA thread.
  2. Fastball usage is at an all time low. https://www.google.com/amp/s/calltothepen.com/2018/06/30/mlb-pitchers-are-shying-away-from-the-fastball/amp/
  3. I believe home runs have more to do with bat speed than pitch speed.
  4. Castro has never been good. He walks nearly as many guys as he Ks. Not sure how a guy that can throw 100 can't strike people out in this era of three true outcomes (or any era really).
  5. The Orioles were 4th in TV ratings just two years ago. Seems like we do have a pretty substantial fanbase. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.forbes.com/sites/maurybrown/2016/09/28/here-are-the-2016-mlb-prime-time-television-ratings-for-each-team/amp/
  6. I'd say Archer's track record is significantly better than Gausman's.
  7. How much money would we have to eat if we sent CD to the White Sox along with our entire farm system in exchange for a hot dog
  8. Cashner sucks but he’s better than what we have and the contract isn’t terrible, I suppose.
  9. How does defense keep a 1B in the lineup? He’s not a SS. Your 1B has to hit.
  10. Pitchers are horrible hitters. Some changes are for the better.
  11. How so? I don’t agree with that.
  12. I assume all teams would use a DH.
  13. I love it, but Indians and Twins fans won’t.
  14. Because W-L is a terrible stat for pitchers.
  15. Buck would rather lose than bench a vet.
  16. Would probably keep people from turning off the TV.
  17. They aren't wasting a year of control. He's only going to get like 30 days of service. 172 days of service = 1 year.
  18. Helping Baltimore make the playoffs is more important than helping Bowie in their playoffs. If he was going to start next year on the OD roster then this doesn't cost them any years of control. If they're optioning him to start next season, they'll need to keep him down an extra month if they're trying to get an extra year. If Buck plays Rickard over Hays, it's probably time for him to retire.
  19. Yes, this starts his service clock. If he makes the OD roster next year, he won't be a Super 2 (assuming he stays in the big leagues permanently). They'd have to option him and leave him in the minors about a month past the Super 2 cutoff (or what they think it'll be, there's no official cutoff), if they wanted to avoid Super 2.
  20. If Buck starts Rickard over Hays, he's on crack.
  21. I doubt it. He has 2 options left after this year. He's not a bad guy to have on the 40 while he has options.
