  1. Lol, I know. It's one of many real life examples I need to keep my phone face down or out of sight. Our TV provides score updates on top of any show or input I am using unless I turn it off. I sometimes forget, and when I am watching a few moments behind when tension is building, it is completely spoiled by a score update "from the future". Sometimes I don't mind. Sometimes...
  2. Glad you secured tix in the end @justD. I didn't even see parking as an option but had you post in my head as I was logging in for 12p today. See you down there!
  3. @foxfield, how'd you do???!!! I got what I was looking for... 4 tix for ALDS #2 ($75 per in Section 61) 4 tix for ALCS #1 ($125 per in 352) 4 tix for WC #2 ($150 per in 242) I've never attended a postseason game, so this is a big deal. Wanted to ensure something as best I could. FWIW, I logged on about 5 mins early to see and had the access to proceed. First attempt at tickets bonked however, and I had to jump out and back in again. Didn't mess around the second time to hunt for better seats so went with whatever was at the top.
  4. You too! This is just a precursor to how sweaty my palms will be during the actual games.
  5. Must admit. I am pretty anxious waiting for 12pm....... Hoping for 4 tix for ALDS #2 & ALCS #1 because I have a razor-thin schedule around these days.
  6. How are you getting to mlb.tv? I ask because something similar happens to me but only when I am watching mlb.tv via q PlayStation and I am not live, but instead a few minutes in the past because I joined late or had to go back. I've noticed if I try to skip ahead a little bit to make up time or try to use the controller to see the navigation interface it will skip to present. Frustrating for sure. I don't recommend that viewing experience. On the other hand, when watching on a TV through a Google Chromecast with the same Wi-Fi strength the issue above never happens. Watching on my phone doesn't do this either.
  7. I'm reading the same thing you are: up to 4 tix, up to 3 games a series, but it was advertised as up to 4 tix once per series. I go at 12p ET. Sounds like it was based on seniority.
  8. I'm buying tomorrow too. Flex Pro plan here. First time. I'm wondering how the selection process goes if the seeding is still up in the air -- which could change the home dates. What are you guys counting on? I've heard it's like: game 1, game 2, game 3... where the numbered games reflect the number played in Baltimore, not obviously the number in the series. I guess what I'm wondering is: Have you guys found a way to reason out which games are likely to be in Baltimore given they'll be either the top seed or 4th (1st wildcard) seed? Wish I had more flexibility throughout but that's not the case, so trying to hedge my bets if at possible.
  9. Thank you Cano for only needing 3 pitches to end it.
  10. Ridiculous win. Just one of those teams, I guess. Love it.
  11. As of 9pm Monday night, I was able to get the Pro level Flex plan.
  12. I think we're lucky to sneak a peak behind the scenes into the managerial process. I would love to be a fly on the wall all the time to see and hear what we can't by just watching on TV or in person. I guess I assume these types of conversations go on all over the league and we never really consider it. Did it happen in the TB side? Those guys have been to the playoffs 4-years running and are headed for #5 this season. They were ready to celebrate yesterday afternoon with a win.
  13. Was curious what happened in the Rays locker room, since they also made the postseason the same time the Os did... FWIW: "Manager Kevin Cash addressed his players to congratulate them for the impressive accomplishment, but that was about the extent of the celebration. Plastic sheeting for a bigger wet and wild party sat atop a row of lockers after being quickly rolled up following the Orioles' victory."

    Boo! or...?

I must admit there were antics from Manny that I was booing at home. I don't think I ever booed Davis but that felt like a hard test. @InsideCoroner RE: my son... I would say my fondness for the name was equally shaped by #8 and Watterson's comics, but he's not named after them if that makes sense. I love them both but he's still my son, not theirs Though when he was introduced to my own dad, his question was "after silent 'Cal' (Coolidge)?"
  15. Interesting take. Appreciate the thoughtful response. I wouldn't do it but who can say what the answer is?
  16. Totally onboard for that. If he hits and he's contributing to some much needed offense right now, it's a great boost to our chances as well as the youth movement story arc we're on right now.
  17. One more Adam Jones memory... Something about seeing him in those Friday night uniforms: Os cap, black jersey, white pants, high socks... it kind of looked like he felt like he was playing in a tuxedo. He made that look. Looked like he liked wearing it. I obviously have no idea. It just looked like he liked the way it looked, and that he might be a guy who plays better when looking his best.
  18. Wish we could've seen more on the TV broadcast. Back in the 2010's I remember being tempted by an Os Fantasy Camp or something where you could play baseball with members from the organization past and present. I admit I day dreamed about it, but this coincided with also having new born kids... needless to say it remained in my head. Getting to rub elbows with Jonesy was an influencing part of those moments. He was Baltimore for people. It's good to see him.
  19. Thought it was an impressive hit. Needed to really turn on that pitch to make contact -- so the fact that he could make a deposit into the crowd that seemed to easily fall out of the sky like a late-August tomato from heaven made it all the more cool. If that's where the Shwarber talk comes from, I get it. All these kids around... we might need a bigger car just to handle the groceries!

    Boo! or...?

With a team as consistent as our Os, even a three game losing streak stands out as a terrible terrible thing, let alone longer ones... it's easy to get down when perspective goes temporarily insane. Watching these last few games, 2 of which having been broadcast to much larger audiences, what stands out to me is just how supportive the fans have been. People are starting chants on their own, "O R I O L E S" cheers are being picked up on TV loud and clear, and people are supportive throughout the 9 innings. For fan's of the team, we all are so much closer to nuances around how they've gotten to this point and why they might be struggling "lately". But for those who are catching meaningful games on TV between teams who matter, their take away from what they've seen (and heard?) is naturally going to be through a different lense. Now I don't watch all baseball. I watch my son Calvin play (he's 9), and I watch the Orioles. I am unconditionally infatuated with both. Basically... you've got to be family. So I wondered: How might observing our support of the team look to outsiders? Do you think people notice the crowd in the way I described above? Have you heard, or participated in, openly booing our team? It's your right too, I'm curious. (I'm not taking about ownership or officiating/bad calls kind of stuff, I'm talking about onfield play stuff.) How does your experience/feeling seem when compared to what you perceive elsewhere?
  21. This isn't necessarily exclusive to Apple TV, but I apparently I require a much bigger TV to watch these games. Feels like the broadcast screen was designed to be watched on a laptop 30 inches away from your face. I can't read a thing they're putting on the screen on top of the actual play. Oh my god I'm Andy Rooney.
  22. Next time you feel like going, call me.
  23. Feels like a cold snap happens after scoring tons of runs. The only way out is forward.
  24. Agree with you that the ball seemed to be moving a lot for both pitchers, moreso for Civale -- which also could contribute to the perception of poor strike zone management when you factor in the bad Fox zone border on replays.
  25. I watched it just now and it's hard to slow it down enough via MLB.TV but at least they appealed to third base. FWIW, I don't think he went. His wrists never seemed to break, which helped his cause.
