  1. Let's just tee off, shall we?
  2. Gunnar aims and let's one fly!
  3. I don't follow college hoops as closely as lot of people in the Research Triangle Area of NC considering that Duke, NCSU, and UNC are all in close proximity, but man, it's hard to ignore the 8 straight wins, all do or die, that the Wolfpack have pulled off thus far. Having to pull a sweep in the ACC Tournament to even get an invitation was a tall order, but unbelievably that's what they did, ie. beat UVA, Duke in UNC in order. In '83, with a smaller field both in the ACC and NCAA field, they had to win 8 in a row in postseason. But this year, it's an even taller order with 11 wins to complete the job. 8 down, three to go. Whether they get any further or not, it's been a magic spring for this bunch. I was a junior at State when Jimmy V led them to the brass in '83. The term Cardiac Pack carries more wallop now at age 62 than it did at 21!
  4. Yeah, had Walltimore been there in '18, they may have played until breakfast.
  5. Was 2018 a walk-off win? What was the winning hit? Doesn't compare today to the fireworks, but I do remember a satisfying OD win in recent memory. https://www.baseball-almanac.com/box-scores/boxscore.php?boxid=201803290BAL
  6. I wish they had not assigned the Omar "Farmer in the Dell" whistle to Bautista. That would have been nice for post-K sound effects.
  7. Makes me wonder if you get less foul tips or short hops to the jewels this way, ie. you're lower to the ground and the ball lands higher on the body? If that's it, yeah, I'd catch that way.
  8. I'm out of rep already. You're welcome.
  9. I think the quote has been taken out of context. It's no different than the famous Gayle Sayers quote that inspired his book "I Am Third". Rendon: "It's never been a top priority for me," Rendon said. "This is a job. I do this to make a living. My faith, my family come first before this job. So if those things come before it, I'm leaving." Sayers: “The Lord is first, my friends are second, and I am third.”
  10. She's the excitable one, thus the crating! Chester, whom I posted a pic of just now, is much more relaxed about it all.
  11. Thanks. I'm out of rep today, but her brother Chester is connecting with the city today and enjoying the game on the sofa.
  12. She's fine. Just had a meal and needed to nap. Turned 7 months old recently. Great Pyrenees. Her twin brother finds TV pretty interesting.
  13. The Jon Waters thing is in for the O's this year. I think the HR celebration will have something to do with JW.
  14. First run of the year. A run for an out.
  15. Ducks on the pond. I imagine Ben has a good quip to go with that.
  16. Just to the batter's eye. That'll work.
  17. WaitAndSeeAboutTheNewOwner is still unclaimed. Also: OpenTheWallet
  18. Of course, we’re all waiting with anticipation for Taylor Swift to weigh in.
  19. Lots of love for The Birds here. I know Vanessa of Pylon and have gigged with their new effort a lot in the last two years. An Athens girl, she’s sticking with Braves. https://www.spin.com/2024/03/99-musicians-predict-the-baseball-season/
  20. Eh, what's a few hundred feet deeper with the parking ... But yes, dump the remains of it in the bay as a reef for corals or fish or whatnot.
  21. Repurpose the Hilton (make it an underground parking deck) so that we can see the Bromo Tower again.
  22. The good ol’ Patapsco Backwash portion. Man up, it’s all good man!
