Was at a ML game and just watching it live, finally.
After seeing Cedric so fired up after that original out call at the plate, I was almost priming for him to come charging the ump like George Brett if it were not overturned. -

If you were on vacation for 5 days and it was going to rain 20% of the days, would you prefer it to rain on the first, second, third, fourth or fifth day?
I'd consult Sig on this.

The weather channel app...says 40% chance of T-storms from 6-10pm
I'm not local so I don't have that forecast. I am bringing some Phillies fans and it's their first MLB ever so I was hoping the weather would cooperate. Leaving shorty.
I’m a firm believer that when a weather forecast says 40 percent rain, I try to look at it as 60 percent chance of sun.

Wow, he gives up a lot of HR.
Maybe Walltimore will be his friend and salvation.
Or maybe winged monkeys will fly out of my butt.

How big are the TVs there?
Can you imagine how the bar staff will react if we all react like we do on the game threads, ie. “This game is over!”, second inning kind of stuff.
“WHY can’t we get a runner home from third?!!”

To me, this looked a lot like Peter Buck (L) of R.E.M. sitting in front of Mike Elias at tonight’s game. Did anyone notice this or hear it mentioned in the game thread? I wasn’t on this thread tonight.
It would make sense he’d be at a Braves game, as he and MIke MIlls of R.E.M. (and also in the band The Baseball Project with him) are Braves guys. -

Elias could show up to a news conference in a suit emblazened with T Rowe emblems making him look like the Joker and if the O's start spending money on extending players, I won't complain.

Isn’t Rubenstein a Dookie? And Grant Hill is a minority owner.
Indeed they are. Just a coincidence, I’m sure, regarding the ram for their logo.

Inevitable things are inevitable. Major League Baseball will never welcome gambling, MLB will never have uniform advertisements, MLB will never have an electronic strikezone, and so on and so forth. Selling OP@CY naming rights is coming soon.
Can't wait to see this dumbass logo, on our LFs ugly City Connect jersey, standing in front of that eyesore wall.
Still waiting to see a player extended though. Unfortunately, that doesn't seem inevitable at all.
I think we should just get it over with, and take the money to extend some young stars. I can live with this as OPACY primary name rights owner.

Kind of resembles Ramses, the UNC Tar Heel mascot. Similar color, too. The Dookies are not gonna like this.

No one mentioned The American Visionary Museum of Art. It's just a few blocks past Federal Hill at the Key Highway, and just over a mile from Camden Yards. It's a very fun place to see offbeat folk art, etc.

Hindsight is 20/20. I do find value in the youth sports field currently there as a tangential reminder of the history, but this is what had been considered at one point, I think. This is in Indianapolis.

Fairbanks and his dart throwing delivery. It clearly works for him. I wonder if that motion is easier on the elbow?

Aranda reminds me of a mashup of Nelson Cruz and Bobby Brady. Such a baby face.

Yep, dude doesn't want us to help us. Robbing folks of HRs isn't helping us at all. Some just need to think before they post.
I'm almost certain he was joking. Tone is hard to convey on message boards.

No "want to" as Buck would say?
I know you were joking. He clearly wants to succeed. Just in a rough, rough patch. Yes, goes back awhile, but still. -

If I had to criticize one thing about Henderson, it would be that horrible walk-up song they play as he approaches the plate. I don't know if he has any control of that, but it is the worst.
They can have Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer for all I care if he continues to rake.
Btw, that's one song so cringey I immediately reach for the off button on my car radio. -

Shoulda taken it off the chest like Brooks
Sadly, we don't see that much anymore. I had constant bruises on my chest during my playing days. And some bruised nuggets occasionally. Even wearing a cup, there's pain when a guy gets dinged there. It's like wearing a bullet proof vest, but still feeling some impact of a bullet.
I think the scariest thing is having one's breath knocked out, though. It feels like drowning. Happened a bit to me in football.
I did have a spike come down on a finger once. I called time, went out of the gate, behind the concession stand and threw up!-

How ironic that Brian Roberts is doing the color when an accident like that occurs.

I have never seen a throw to 2nd that overthrown.
Just throw it over the CF fence next time like Trevor Bauer.

I like the gentle analogy of wetting the bed. I was thinking more of the Spud bed scene in Trainspotting.
