  1. They could have done a more effective job throwing rain ponchos on the field.
  2. Garceau: "There's going to be a meeting tomorrow." Game called due to grounds crew incompetence? I haven't seen anything like this since the Bull Durham rain delay scene.
  3. Looks like me trying to put up a tent when camping.
  4. I'm not henpecked, I just have chicken house ways.
  5. Win column! Just the way Hyde drew it up!
  6. Good point. I think the robbery may have indeed made him more cautious about flaunting jewelry.
  7. 6'7". 205 lbs. That Castro is one lanky fellow. Probably the high socks accentuate his long legs.
  8. His blonde tips bring all the girls into the yard.
  9. Dang, two filthy pitches by Sulser. Sulser, because I like saying Sulser!
  10. Of course, you have to factor in they are watching from a monitor at Camden Yards, pretty much like we are, and don't have a depth perception advantage the Nats Park team has.
  11. Sulser in. Because people like to say Sulser.
  12. Bingo, Yahtzee, Triple Word Score!
  13. I was all ready to go "The Ballad of Austin Hays" on that one.
  14. Ben: "He brings in Severino and he goes Yahtzee."
  15. Back to back! Keep 'em coming.
  16. My first year watching with MLB. So far, liking it pretty well. Had MASN from '09 - '18. I'm really tiring of the same three commercials, though. My mute button is getting a workout this year between innings.
  17. And daddy won't you take me back to Muhlenberg County Down by the Green River where Paradise lay Well, I'm sorry my son, but you're too late in asking Mister Peabody's coal train has hauled it away
  18. Just watched it on replay. The announcer called it. First pitch! https://www.mlb.com/video/wilmer-font-in-play-run-s-to-nick-markakis
  19. Ball came *really* fast. Got it by pure reflex. I still had some decent reflexes then as it was my last year of over 30's league baseball. We were still playing. I got another the next year on the other side of the field, sort of just under the club seats. A foul ball hit a seat a few rows in front of me and skipped like a rock on a pond and then into my chest. I trapped it. Had a beer in the other hand!
  20. O's 8-25 vs. Marlins since that team's inception. Thought that was a bit surprising, but then I thought about how the Marlins have won two World Series in that time-span and O's have won none. Personal note: The first foul ball I ever caught at The Yard was vs. Marlins on 7-16-2000. Was a foul tip. I had just sat down in my seat in the first inning and told my friends, "I got you covered, I have my glove." The a foul tip from a Marlin batter went right into my glove. I was in the Club Section just to the first base side of the press box, first row. Same batter hit another just out of my reach.
  21. New rule: If a catcher catches a ball that grazes a batter, the batter stays at the plate. It's only fair
