  1. I really tire of the default CF cam view (probably more like over the SS's shoulder). First off, it skews where the ball really is but it also makes the other cams play catchup when a ball is ripped. I wish they'd mix it up more with the behind the plate cam. I was watching some old '69 through '71 World Series during the break and that cam was used far more.
  2. Maybe I'm imagining this, but it looks like Davis is enjoying some smokeless tobacco under his mask. Saw him chewing. That can't be right.
  3. As were opposing batters. That filthy breaking ball.
  4. Private Internet Access, aka PIA. I have to remember to turn it off for Netflix and YouTube TV.
  5. Whoever recommended that Private Internet Access VPN, hats off to you. Working flawlessly able to now see the games on both my Mac (MLB website) or my Fire TV MLB app.
  6. Even more interesting sandlot rule: Penalizing hitters pulling the ball, ie not going to opposite field or up the middle.
  7. New rule: From 13th inning onward, each team has to pull a position player. Kidding obviously, but it did help bring some sandlot games to a close faster, anyway
  8. I was out in the driveway shooting baskets while listening to the game when I heard the O's radio guys say the streak had reached 18. I was trying to think of anything even close and all I could come up with was college basketball when Clemson lost 59 straight road games in Chapel Hill to UNC (streak ended this January). Apples and oranges, but both are examples of complete futility.
  9. Very sad to hear of this. I had gotten a YouTube notification the O's had named him to their Hall of Fame last night, but had not gone to the clip yet. Loved hearing him on TheFan when he called in. Sweet boy. So sad for his family. Heartbreaking. (edit: watching the clips now. Tears.)
  10. My wife told me *the exact same thing* about an hour ago. Cup half full lady, that one.
  11. If you had told me in January that the O's would be tied for first in late July 2020 with a .667 win percentage, I'd have laughed at you. Yes, that was tongue in cheek.
  12. Listening via either At-Bat or the SiriusXM feed. I dropped DirecTV and thus MASN last season to go with the more affordable (for me) YouTubeTV. I am watching Tigers-Reds right now on MLB Network. Edit: Multi-tasking while watching Tigers-Red, ie I have the Radio.com 105.7 TheFan O's pregame on now.
  13. I can just imagine the roar when relish wins the hot dog race.
  14. I don’t have a family history of this type of cancer (and other factors of low risk for it), so my primary care physician (UNC Hospitals Healthcare system) gave me the option of the stool tests that I send to their testing lab. I do this every Fall. If they ever find something suspicious, they will then call me in for a colonoscopy and examination. The test is very simple and easily accomplished. A good buddy of mine lost his wife (she was mid-50s) to this cancer about four years ago. Just about all of my close friends now have one test or the other now. The awareness has grown over the last decade and I’m convinced it’s saving lives. Wishing Trey all the best. Hoping that catching it early will be to his benefit. He will surely be under the watchful eye of his doctors for several years.
  15. Nothing but love, healing prayers and support to Trey. A family favorite of ours from the first time he put on the uniform. Though some know him as Boom Boom, my wife, girls and I started calling him The Pink Panther early on due to the Mancini connection before that other name stuck. Hang in there.
  16. Hope everyone is about to relax for a spell and enjoy a day or two with family or friends. I don’t post a ton, but I still try to check in and read what I can here at OH. Still a marvelous place. Thanks to you all for making it that way. Still making music with my kids. Here’s our 2019 Christmas video. Some of these may sound familiar. My daughters (12 year old on drums and 17 year old on bass) knocked this out about a week ago. Happy Holidays! We’ll have an EP on vinyl of our original music by summer. Note: You may note I have my custom O‘sCaster guitar at the top right of the frame in the first song.
  17. I saw him twice when the Keys came to Winston-Salem early on. Such high hopes. Did see him maybe 3 times in Baltimore. Sad to see him go, but it’s for the best (for him and the rebuild). I’ll pull for him no matter where he is.
  18. My DirecTV bill fluctuated between $90 and $110 the last ten years or so depending on what tier I chose and any add ons (HBO or Showtime, etc. but usually only for a few months). MASN was part of my overall package all that time. In 2019, finally cut the cord, dumped DirecTV and I decided to just listen via the At Bat app ($19.99 / year) to the O's radio broadcast team. I miss Palmer, but now that my YouTubeTV subscription gets me what I basically want for $52 a month, it was a better financial situation for me. If I can at some point stream MASN, I'll do it. I'm not holding my breath with MLB waiving the in-market blackout for MLB-TV. I'd have had MLB-TV if that had not been the case. I tried 3 VPNs over two years in an exploratory effort to cut the cord in recent years and Apple or MLB-TV eventually got hip to it and I ended my VPN experiment.
  19. I hear that a lot about the Walgreens logo as well, but from what I recall, the Nats just adopted the old Senators logo. I do see the similarity, but the Senators cap I grew up with is what it looks like to me. I kind of like that continuity. I was surprised to learn the original Washington franchise at one point (1905, their 5th year) were officially renamed The Nationals, but The Senators nickname just caught on and they went with that. http://www.sportslogos.net/logos/list_by_team/79/Washington_Senators/
  20. Wait. This is what I remember about Moose in ‘97. Edit: Ok I see it’s multiple postseason starts, not just doing it once. I was searching for what he did vs. Mariners in the ALDS, but he didn’t hit double digits in Ks in his two starts. He had 9 and 7, beating Randy Johnson twice. https://www.mlb.com/cut4/heres-mike-mussina-striking-out-15-indians-batters-on-his-birthday/c-159069820
