  1. I only managed to catch six hours / 16 innings. I feel like a failure.
  2. I saw him play a couple of times with Norfolk in Durham. If I’m not mistaken, the April ‘09 game was Wieters’ first for Norfolk.
  3. He’s descended deep into Jerk Town. Yet another clown. He’s dead to me.
  4. I’m torn. Dodgers are unlikeable , but many of my Boston friends are unbearable. One of them has a blind spot about how douchey it is to write on social media that “Boston is four wins away from their fourth World Series title in 14 years” while standing in front of one of their WS trophies. I may not watch.
  5. Plus, a guy with reconstructed knees has no business doing any kind of tripping or jaking with another guy’s legs. What is he thinking? (Rhetorical question).
  6. Have to agree. He’s gone full punk. I feel like an idiot defending him for so long.
  7. Yeah, I noticed how he admired that one a bit long.
  8. I’d never heard of her. So I did go to her Twitter feed. A bit of a show off, isn’t she? I do take that back. Was she the one who was an O’s beat reporter for awhile but admitted she was a Yankee fan?
  9. Mr. Met, now cut that out. Tsk, tsk.
  10. Jim Hunter, bless his heart, really strikes me as a game show host or telethon emcee at heart. He brings nothing very interesting to the equation. And agreed about Theo. He'd never come here. Nor Girardi. Just daydreaming or lost in random thoughts as the OP says.
  11. I hadn't heard of an announcement quite like this involving a player in an ongoing game since the Raffy suspension. That was slightly different as that game had not officialy begun yet. I was sitting in CF bleachers at Camden Yards when it was announced on WBAL pre-game. And ironically it was vs. The White Sox on the weekend the '05 meltdown began.
  12. This occurred to me as an illogical and random thought. Let’s get the Cubs to throw in Theo as part of the Manny offer. Edit: I remember both of those plays and that clip is what I think of when I think of Cust.
  13. I asked my wife tonight to give me her three guesses on who was the former Oriole who is tearing the cover off the ball in the NL. She didn't guess correctly. When I told her it's Flaredog, it blew her mind.
  14. I could watch this dancing over and over.
  15. I may be in the minority, but I have never bought the idea that Palmer had plastic surgery. He did have a botched cataract procedure about 17 years ago. So bad that he won an $800,000 suit against the surgeon. I think he just has one of those faces where genetics have been kind. My father had few wrinkles, tight skin and had smooth eye features and cheeks as he was approaching 80. Bald as cue ball at 25, however ...
  16. If anyone is looking to change their username, I think Palmer’sBeard is available. Reboulet’sMustache can have company.
  17. I like it. It kind of suits him. He rocked some pretty cool sideburns in the late 60s / 70’s.
  18. NashLumber, where your grandfather was a satisfied customer and you will, too.
  19. Dang, I hate I wasn't online when his HR occurred. I missed the 9th as I was on my way to a house concert. I was only half right. The predicted headline turned out to be: Austin Powers One to Right vs. Yanks
  20. I, for one, can't wait to see the headline or Tweet: Austin Powers O's Past Yanks (or whomever it would happen to be when it occurs). Shagadelic!
  21. Definitely winnable. I was about an hour behind in the game on the DVR. After the 3 run blast off of Givens, I watched all but the bottom of the 9th in fast forward. Life's too short.
  22. Agreed. Also notice, McCann. That pitch was so fast (YES clock read 98mph), he had practically zero time to respond. It's on him before he had time to hardly move. At all. Can you imagine one from Chapman at 102 - 103?
  23. Like a force field, apparently. I never would have believed it. If it misses the helmet and gets one's face, eyes or nose, ... man. That's some ridiculous stuff, that head hunting. 98mph. There's a theory in one story I read that Cabrerra had planned that fight so he'd be ejected before his at bat as he wanted no part of a 103mph fastball at his head from Chapman. Can't blame him.
