  1. He’s looked very good this spring. You won’t allow for the possibility that he has a good year? The FO clearly likes him and they’ve done a pretty good job so far in most facets.
  2. Eh I think Baker Tate and Cano and Coloumbe can be pretty solid in short relief. Kimbrel is who he is. He’ll get the job done in the regular season but it may be scary sometimes. Then some have said Baumann looked good this spring and if so, we can slot him into a higher leverage situation.
  3. Looks like he had some trouble repeating his delivery today. Especially at the top of it as his hands separated. Yea he’ll be frustrating I think.
  4. Turn the Ben Shapiro podcast down, I can’t hear you.
  5. I feel like there would be pretty huge legal implications if he were to do that. Not sure how billion dollar sales work, but I imagine there were hundreds of pages of contracts that have been signed. Or I hope at least . But I do share some of your reticence that things may not get better. “The devil you know… etc”
  6. Aside from the “liftoff” comment, he doesn’t really do that it seems.
  7. Why wasn’t he just included in a built-out version of the Burnes deal then?
  8. About 15 years ago I saw Cal at Pepe’s on Falls Road (great Philly cheesesteak.) My teenage brother was maybe a bit star struck and staring and Cal said, while trying to access the the potato chip rack, verbatim, “get out of my way.” That singular focus and drive to overcome obstacles could be invaluable for Gunnar.
  9. I worry you’re setting yourself up for disappointment.
  10. I don’t think we make any significant trades in the next few weeks so I wouldn’t worry about it.
  11. Did he ever outright say this? I know it’s the commonly held industry consensus though.
  12. It’s a silly contract for a reliever. Does he even close or does Presley keep the job?
  13. They should keep Cease if that’s the case.
  14. I think it’s a bit myopic to fixate that much on one prospect. I like Kjerstad a bit more than Cowser too, but they’re really neck and neck for me. Why the huge preference for Kjerstad? Cowser’s glove carries more value.
  15. Ehh I don’t think it’s very homer-ish to say that’s a bad trade for us and would be accepted by the Sox. That’s a lot of years of control, two ML ready top 100 prospects, and another young pitcher who looked really good last year. What do you think we’d have to add to get them to bite?
  16. Got it. Crow aside, between Povich and McDermott, if we had to part with one, who would everyone choose to keep? The more I see of McDermott, the more I think he could be a number 3 starter. I think trading him for two years of cease would hurt badly.
  17. Apologies then. Carry on all, I’ll see myself out.
  18. Don’t worry, he’s too smart to let it careen.
