  1. Polo Grounds 2.0 As someone that goes to a lot of minor league games, especially Bowie, the pitch clock really doesn't seem bad. It was weird the first few times I saw it, but as a fan, I like it. Do we really need pitchers taking 2 minutes between pitches to walk around the mound, use the rosin bag, scratch twice, lick their fingers, get their hidden pine tar mix from wherever they have it stashed, then nod at the catcher? 3 batter minimum seems ok. It would definitely change the strategy, especially late in the season (August) as far as using someone too much. 26th roster spot is always good. Do not touch the pitchers mound. The whole "MiLB Extra Innings" rule is dumb. Yes, it makes the game end sooner, but it kills the whole thing. Last season, DL Hall and Alex Katz combined for 9, no hit innings in Delmarva. The 3rd pitcher that came in lost it on a bunt to the first batter, which was only done to move the runner over and it ended up as a single. I enjoy the difference in the AL and NL. Interleauge play is one of the worst things to have happened though. Having to adjust in the World Series was a lot better than having to adjust for a 3 game series on Monday in April.
  2. Quick little article about The Mosquito and his versatility and speed. https://therunnersports.com/orioles-kirvin-moesquit-is-off-radar-player-to-watch/
  3. I think he will get over 12 wins. Some might be shootouts, some might be super low scoring. But I think he will get over 12.
  4. Anyone else going to wear a WWE "Walk With Elias" shirt to Camden Yards this season?
  5. Orioles GCL outfielder Trey Whitley has been suspended 50 games without pay for his second positive test for a drug of abuse.
  6. Spring Training: Wynns, Sisco, Perez, Cervenka, Brockmeyer, Fajardo, Levy. 6 there that could of been there as depth.
  7. You mean no other team wanted him? I'm shocked I tell you, shocked! The only question is, if he survives through the camp. They have a lot of options in the minors now.
  8. They don't need anyone for depth at this point. This is an excerpt from the thread about signing Carlos Perez: "I wonder if this eliminates them from attempting to re-sign Caleb? I'm also going to work with the assumption that Susac doesn't make it out of Spring Training. Perhaps the depth chart will look a bit like this: Baltimore: Perez/Wynns (split) Norfolk: Sisco/Brockmeyer (Sisco starts, Brockmeyer is depth) Bowie: Cervenka/Fajardo (Cervenka starts, but can move up quickly) But if they get Caleb back... Baltimore: Joseph/Wynns Norfolk: Sisco/Perez Bowie: Cervenka/Brockmeyer Only putting Sisco in Norfolk so he can get more at bats and playing time instead of working in a split role. The only thing that I could see changing that is either injury, or they carry 3 catchers and have Sisco DH'ing on days he doesn't catch, with Cervenka in Norfolk." Now, if they do add someone like a Maldonado, Vogt, ect, replace "Joseph" with their name. But again, not entirely needed.
  9. This is the second he was was put on waivers (claimed by the Yankees the first time this off season.) I wonder why the Orioles didn't pick him up that time, but I'm not sure if it was before or after Elias and Hyde were hired.
  10. What's funny is, the majority of them are players that made their debut in the last 2 seasons: Means, Fry, Sisco, Stewart, Hays...
  11. Are the Orioles sponsored by Kay Jewelers or something? I think there have been about 15 weddings and just as many engagements by Orioles players (on the 40) and in the system.
  12. Really wish they would have a foot race in Spring Training between McKenna, Hall, Moesquit, and Mullins.
  13. Mesiginer DFA'ed by Cardinals. Bridwell claimed by Angeld after being DFA'ed by Yankees.
  14. They also picked up another infielder for International money, so maybe some competition there.
  15. I actually went back and read @Tony-OH old prospect reports on Sisco in 2014 and 2015. Both times he mentions a lack of bat speed and in one of the articles, mentions how Sisco would have trouble catching up to fastballs in the top ranks. Tony also mentions how Sisco would mainly go opposite field. I wonder if that was due to bat speed or just the hitting style? Let's see if he has a different swing path or stance in the Spring.
  16. Meisinger coming off the 40 instead of several others is surprising.
  17. In random off season news, Sisco tied the knot today. Maybe that was the issue this year? Worried about if the team was going to get him some candlesticks, a place setting or a silverware pattern?
  18. I think his injuries last season had something to do with that.
  19. I think he could be a 4th starter on the team. His stats last season say that he had a good first couple of games, then the league adjusted to him once some tape was out. Then he made some adjustments over the last 9 games.
