  1. I think so after yesterday. Atleast they are off today. The sad part is, Pedro Perez is gonna get a pretty serious hangnail and go back on the IL so Sucre to come back tomorrow.
  2. He has really picked up since playing every day, instead of splitting the duties like earlier.
  3. He is a double shy of the cycle in Norfolk.
  4. He should do fine. After all, he played there a total of.... *flips through notes and Google.com* 2 games in Norfolk! Wait...
  5. Starting the "limit innings" thing early?
  6. Not quite tall enough to lead the Lollipop Guild.
  7. He's on the shorter side of things and profiles more as a utility guy, instead of someone with a set position on the field.
  8. Watching the replay of Game 2, he was obviously thinking.... *Bob Uecker pause* I don't know what the hell he was thinking! Awful, awful game for him all around. That play, 0-4, and a wild pitch when he tried to back hand a ball instead of sliding infront of it. Mental error, mentally bad game. Hope he bounces back. Also, Wilkerson with a mental error that inning too, not getting the force at second to end the inning. Not sure what he was thinking.
  9. Reading through the game thread and Twitter, this was a very, VERY poorly played double header by both teams on defense.
  10. The first pitch of the game was launched for a home run.
  11. Yeah, that is what he used against lefties. He did use it against righties too and had them swinging overtop. He also used it when the one player attempted a bunt. He threw the curveball high and caused the bunt to pop up to him. The slider was definitely working for him. The low strike zone helped him early.
  12. Going to do my best. He kept them fooled completely. He blew fastballs by them, had them way out in front and flailing at his breaking ball (I believe it is a slider. @Luke-OH Please correct me if I'm wrong.) His curve was also effective. He basically had all 3 pitches working and the hitters had no idea what to expect. He worked both sides pretty well and didn't elevate much. He only had 1 hard contact moment, on a deep fly ball to center. Other than that, it was just keeping hitters off balance. He did seem to attack early in the game and then tried nipping the corners of the zone too much later. He still got his strike outs, but he was getting a lot more fouls than swing and misses, which might of cost him an entire inning and a third of pitching. Luke also pointed out he had an absurdly high number of "swing and miss" tonight.
  13. Still have plenty of games against the Yankees and Red Sox left.
  14. If a MLB pitcher is on a rehab assignment, they will use MLB balls when they pitch, no matter the level.
  15. I call your update and raise you "Robbie Thorburn moves from Aberdeen to Delmarva to replace Robertson."
  16. With Yusniel Diaz out for a bit, Jarrett gets the bump. Not the best news for Cole Billingsley, who was sent to Fredeick a week and a half ago after struggling horribly (which is saying something, since 95% of Bowie is struggling).
  17. Yeah, realized that mistake once I dug deeper, I just didn't remember seeing his name before.
  18. 15 to 11 right now, going into the bottom of the 6th in Louisville.
  19. Ogren is in the lineup. Looks like Becker was moved down. Fregia is also playing, not sure who he moved.
  20. As pointed out by Frobby, Bowie has been horrible. Rylan Bannon is the top hitter right now, leading in most catagories (the only two players ahead of him on stuff is Chris Clare, who is on the IL and Austin Wynns, who was only there for 4 games of rehab.) .364 OBP, .269 AVG, .463 SLG (second to Anderson Feliz, who was there for 5 games and is in Norfolk now), .826 OPS, 19 strikes outs to 9 walks in 67 AB's (28% strike out rate), leads the team in home runs (2), doubles (7), hits (18), RBI's (12) and tied for top in runs (7). His defense is the big question, as he has been used in a utlity role and has committed 3 errors, tied with Sean Miller. Yusniel Diaz has also been much maligned, but isn't doing that much worse. The .221 average isn't the best, but he has less strike outs (12 vs. 19) in one more at bat (68 vs. 67) than Bannon. 3 less hits, 4 less doubles, 1 more triple (1 vs. 0), and 1 home run, so he isn't back too far, but the power doesn't seem to be there yet. After that...There isn't much to be happy about. In 9 games, Chris Clare was leading the team in average and was starting to put it together. Martin Cervenka has been awful in his return to Bowie, striking out in almost half his at bats (21 k's in 50 at bats), with ZERO extra base hits and only 1 walk. After last season and needing to show something to the new staff, this isn't the best way to get noticed. Anderson Feliz was off to a good start and showing that last season wasn't a fluke, but got moved to Norfolk. Ryan McKenna has gone ice cold after catching on fire in Arizona in the Fall League, getting 21 strike outs in 63 at bats and hitting only .175. The good news? He is walking, with a team leading (and tying) 9. His speed isn't there, being 1 for 2 on stolen base attempts. The good news for him? Cole Billingsly was doing even worse and was sent back to Frederick, allowing him a chance for more playing time. Preston Palmeiro is showing none of the hitting skills he had in Frederick, struggling to a .120 average and only 1 extra base hit and 20 strike outs in 50 at bats. If you have anything for Sean Miller to sign, go get it done now. A .081 (not a typo) average with only 3 hits and 3 errors puts him on the hot seat. With Adam Hall and Mason McCoy both tearing up their leagues, both could move up. Miller could be gone soon for McCoy, while Hall takes McCoy's spot in Frederick. The only other player worth mentioning tends to be forgotten. After an MVP season in the Carolina League in 2017, Ademar Rifaela didn't put up big numbers last year in Bowie. He isn't putting up huge ones either this year, but he is putting some good contact on the ball, with 6 of his 14 hits going for extra bases (5 doubles, 1 home run). Strike out rate is still a bit high (17 in 57 at bats - 30%), but he is doing a LOT better than McKenna. Pitching hasn't done them a lot of favors either. Top pitcher? Zach Pop (0.96 ERA in 6 games, 9.1 innings, with 9 strike outs and 4 walks. 1.07 WHIP). The majority have a WHIP (Walks/Hits per Innings Pitched) around/over 1.50. Zac Lowther has struck out 10 while walking 9 and allowed 9 hits in 14 innings. Hunter Harvey leads the team with 19 strike outs (with 4 walks) but has also served up a team high 4 long balls already in just 12.2 innings pitched. His recent outing today was brilliant though (5 innings, 1 hit, 1 walk, 2 k's). Dillion Tate has been the biggest disappointment. In 9.2 innings, he has a 7.45 ERA, 12 hits, 5 walks, 2 hit batters, 2 home runs, and 8 earned runs allowed for a 1.76 WHIP. He moved from the starting rotation to the bullpen in favor of keeping Tyler Herb there. That should tell you something. At any rate, if this keeps up, the season at Bowie will be longer than the season in Baltimore. Who knew we could say THAT at the beginning of the season when the rosters came out? Save us, Austin Hays. You're our only hope.
  21. I thought Juan Soto was in the DSL too?
