I’m surprised Mateo wasn’t running at any point. Especially with Wynns batting, because if Mateo gets thrown out and it goes to extras, you have his speed in second to start off and either have Wynns sac bunt or pinch hit for him to start the 10th. If he is safe, who knows what can happen?

The problem with free agent guesses for next season is simply this: What are they willing to spend? While we can throw around numbers and also know that there isn’t much on the books for next season, we simply don’t know if Elias and ownership can, will, or even want, to spend anything above the bare minimum.

Roch mentioned the other day that they are going to bring all 5 “taxi squad” players to Toronto and the 2 additions will come from there. Cuiffo should be the taxi catcher, but I wouldn’t bet on him being more than that at all in September unless Severino or Wynns gets hurt. Alex Wells should be on there and on the squad Wednesday. For the players, Tyler Nevin, Richie Martin, Rylan Bannon and Yusniel Diaz are the ones currently on the 40. Time to stalk Roch some more and see who is there.

Maybe for the last game, he can play all 9 spots. My question is...Why was he catching today? Handley and Rodriguez aren't listed as injured. Which also brings me to another question...Why is Ryne Ogren suddenly catching in Delmarva!?

If Elias doesn't create a winning team next season, do we get an extra year of him?

Spenser Watkins and Paul Fry were both optioned after today’s game. Both could be back before the end of the season, but Fry’s decline has been shocking. Hopefully he gets his confidence back and can finish strong. Hunter Harvey won’t be taking their place tomorrow, but Alex Wells should be one. Maybe Lowther as the other?

For those saying it’s not an “informative Tweet,” here is why… The Orioles tight lipped-ness continues.

At this point, do you just shut him down and hope for 2022, or do you just push forward and go “yeah…he’s never gonna be healthy, so run him down now?”
