  1. They might have the players selected before the game.
  2. He can’t stay healthy…
  3. Possibly, but they weren’t just handing him the job. Look at Mullins a few seasons ago. Could they have just let him “work it out” in Baltimore or did getting demoted (twice) help him recover and find what he needed to do?
  4. I didn’t act like it’s always the case. Guess I should have made the comment “sometimes a better option” in bold so you could read it and not just assume something. Especially in a case like Urias, who, like you said, was slumping and had inconsistent playing time. Some players need a reset in a lower stress environment. Some are just running into bad luck.
  5. Actually, yes. Both have more power and if they do make it close, McKenna as a pinch runner makes more sense.
  6. Also shows that being sent to Norfolk to “work on some stuff” instead of just “let them work on it in Baltimore” is sometimes a better option.
  7. I…Uh…Wow. This thing is just…I don’t know. “Awful” isn’t harsh enough.
  8. I wonder if the minors have anyone that will be traded. While pitching throughout seems to be a bit of a surplus, along with outfield and middle infield (or utility players, if you talk about how they are being used…), a package of 2 could net someone of value.
  9. Orioles recalled Shaun Anderson from Norfolk and sent Lowther back. Lowther probably doesn’t need a GPS for the shuttle anymore. Anderson was a waiver claim on July 3rd from the Rangers.
  10. You’re down by 8. Just let him hit. It’s not like you’re gonna have a sudden 8 run rally with 1 out.
  11. Yeah. Great person, good defensively, but he needs to put the bat on the ball. Even a ground out or fly out is better than a K.
  12. Surprised they waited this long.
  13. Watkins gets another start, which I think lines him up against the White Sox. He did really good holding a very formidable lineup in check through 5.
  14. Yeah, the missed season probably hurt. But for a 23rd rounder, can’t really complain.
  15. I mentioned him in a previous thread, but keep an eye on him. 23rd round 2019 selection from Ole Miss and was (is?) a starter but has been piggybacking Zach Peek the last 6 or so games. Tonight, he went 4.2 innings and only allowed 1 hit, 0 runs, 0 walks and 7 strike outs, earning the save. This follows up a few similar games where he went 4 innings, 2 hits, 1 run, 0 walks, 4 k's and 4 innings, 0 hits, 0 runs, 1 walk and 7 k's, respectively. He's had a few rough games here and there, but overall has been as consistent as you want from an A ball pitcher.
  16. Or the outfield playing so far in on the bases loaded fly ball. You play back to avoid the deep fly ball landing like it did.
