What makes it even better, the other Rule 5 outfielder they picked up and ended up sending back (Anuery Tavarez) is in the Mexican League.

In Frederick and Bowie, I always thought his bat was a lot better than his defense. He left a lot to be desired.

Even if this is the only year Little Yaz ever plays in the Majors, he certainly is doing his best to show that he isn't just a Scrabble worthy name.

If Chris Davis invested his money very well, maybe he could buy the team and have a "Chris Davis Appreciation Night" like Roger Dorn.

Well, given the state of the outfield this year, would you rather have seen him, or almost all of the players that have been there this season?

I don't think he would be putting up these numbers (or be getting as much playing time, since he wasn't a veteran or Mullins,) but I don't think he would have tanked. But, we will never know.

I'll fully admit, his last name got my attention. But he did really well his first few seasons and then the injuries hit. He still showed flashes of his "prospect self," along with his defense being there. Plus, like a few people pointed out, would it have been so bad to see how he did last season (when he was showing what he can do when healthy) instead of giving Andreoli and Gentry all those at bats?

In my opinion (which probably means less than nothing), he found out how to be healthy. He was tearing up Frederick and Bowie back when he was still on "prospect status," before injuries hit him, including a "core muscle" injury that cost him part of a season and he didn't get to catch up at that time. Now he gets regular playing time (after being in part time roles after injuries) and can finally get on a roll, like 90% of all players do (just not THAT hot of a roll.)

This is also the first time in several years that Yaz is actually healthy. Combine that with the new baseballs and you have this.

3 home run game for Little Yaz, including the "go ahead" home run in the top of the 10th that was the winning run.

It was mentioned before that Mancini would be in left because there is less ground he has to cover than in right.

4 starts, plus maybe 3 or so appearances in September in the majors isn't a rush. It isn't like he played half the year in Bowie, pitched twice in Norfolk and has pitched for the Orioles every few days since mid July. Give him some experience with the ML ball and against tougher competition, going into next season when he starts in Norfolk for atleast half the year.

I really think Stevie has been the most entertaining Oriole this entire season.

The DL stint is probably the only reason he wasn't also sent up.
