  1. I'm definitely glad to be wrong on this one. Good catch.
  2. A quick look at his game log seems to indicate Adley's hitting .176 while catching this year. 35 for 199. Apologies if my math is off. Yes, I know. He walks a lot.
  3. Unless he waited until his agent told him how much the O's were prepared to pay him before posting on Twitter.
  4. Looks like Connor Norby signed today. Maybe his road will provide some insight.
  5. I'd like to see some of the older AA pitchers moved up. Bishop 25 Knight 25 Lebron 27 (unless he's just considered roster filler) Sedlock 26 (he's either healthy or he's not) These guys have all had good seasons. Let's see what they can do in AAA and whether they actually have a future.
  6. It would be interesting to know which starting pitchers each is catching because that would make a big difference.
  7. I agree with most of the sentiments expressed here. Obviously, some will never occur. Adley, DL, and GRod can hope for Norfolk at best. I'd like to see what we have in Mason McCoy as a possible utility infielder. There's no reason to keep Valaika at this point, and any innings given to him are wasted. J Jones in Baltimore is a no brainer no matter his defensive shortcomings. Severino and Wynns can't be gone fast enough, but I know someone has to catch. Time to see Brett Cumberland. Wynns avoids The Turk for the time being. I'm torn about Stewart, but there aren't a lot of alternatives unless we want to throw Diaz out there and tell him to sink or swim which is a bad idea since he's still only 24. I like McKenna a lot better when he's part of a four man bench. In the end, I'll take Jones over Stewart at this point and play him at 2B/OF. C Cumberland, Wynns INF Mancini, Mountcastle, Urias, Leyba, Guitierrez, McCoy OF Hays, Mullins, Santander, McKenna, J Jones
  8. I'm not questioning you but Goldstein's statement. Weren't there hitters actually hitting off the pitchers? Did the data recorders forget to collect data on the hitters? Clearly I'm missing something because it seems there should be the same amount of data for pitchers and position players.
  9. That list looks pretty good. I'm still trying to figure out what the hell happened to Diaz and Kremer, and when they plan to send Adley to Norfolk.
  10. Nice outing for Cody last night got me thinking whether it might be time to move him to Norfolk. He's got 40 innings at AA this season, and while he's trying to make up for a lot of lost time, he's 26.
  11. I give it an F. Elias apparently paid no attention to the myriad mock drafts and message board GMs. WTH, Mike.
  12. Now that there are only four teams plus the two Gulf Coast teams in the minor league system, will a bunch of guys get released once the draftees start signing? I'd be worried if I were a Delmarva outfielder.
  13. What's the deal with Brett Cumberland? Severino and Wynns look more atrocious with every outing. Obviously, we're talking about someone who can back up Adley, but at what point does Cumberland get a chance?
  14. Great assessments. I'd probably give Mountcastle a B since I had low expectations of him in LF, and he's been fine at 1B. Though we'll never see it, I'd love to know how the O's brass grades their players.
  15. Hey! No more snide comments about the Angelos family refusing to spend money. The O's traded cash for Gutierrez. ?
  16. Hate to see Wells go back to Norfolk, but at least Mattson is another "prospect." Hopefully, this is the end of the Stevie W. experiment.
  17. On the other hand, it improves our chances to get the #1 pick.
  18. But at least he can hit a little. Wilkerson/Valaika can't hit or field.
  19. It will be interesting to watch what they do with Hall and Rodriguez since neither pitched in 2020. I'll be surprised if either goes over 100 innings this year, especially with Hall on the IL. Should they give both a taste of AAA at the end of this season if they continue to excel in AA? I couldn't hurt, but if Bowie is in the playoffs, it would probably be better to let them stay there to gain experience in higher leverage situations.
  20. I agree with you, but now that we know what we have in Stewart, isn't it getting close to the time that Diaz deserves a shot.
  21. We also don't have Altuve, Bregman, Springer, and Correa waiting in the minors to transform the big club.
  22. I agree, but he has shown he can hit. Wilkerson and Valaika haven't shown they can hit or defend consistently.
