  1. Montgomery's wife is doing her medical residency in Boston this year, so it wouldn't be too surprising if he ends up with the Sox. Plus, he's very familiar with the AL East.
  2. I hope you're right, but considering that MASN apparently can't afford to send the broadcasters to FL, it wouldn't surprise me if they didn't have cameras & equipment there either.
  3. I expect that MASN will be using the NESN feed. Brett Hollander and Jim Palmer will be calling the game remotely from Baltimore.
  4. Yes it will: https://www.mlb.com/live-stream-games/2024/02/24
  5. Castillo cleared waivers today, so we gained him too.
  6. The Rays announced their TV schedule today. The games against the O's on 3/15 and 3/23 will be on Bally Sports Sun, so those should be on MLB TV also. That makes as many as 15 O's games that will be televised this spring.
  7. This article: https://www.si.com/mlb/braves/minor-league/braves-spring-breakout-game-versus-red-sox-prospects-to-be-broadcast-on-mlb-network says that all Braves ST games will be on the Braves radio network, so that would include a few games against the O's which the O's are not already broadcasting. My current count is 13 O's games on TV and 13 more on the radio. Still waiting on the Rays to announce their broadcast schedule. We play 4 games against the Rays that the are not on the O's broadcast schedule, so hopefully the Rays will broadcast at least some of those.
  8. The Twins released their broadcast schedule today, and it includes 2 games against the O's: February 28 (Twins radio) March 24th (Bally Sports North, which will also be on MLB TV) Still waiting for the Rays & Braves to release their broadcast schedules. We play 7 games against those 2 teams this spring.
  9. I'm one of those people, and I watch every O's game, so this would be devastating to me if they don't come to an agreement.
  10. My other criticism is that 3 of the MASN games are also on the radio, which is mostly redundant. They should have chosen all 12 radio games to be games that are not also being televised on MASN.
  11. I remember those streamed games that Melewski did, and yes he did a good job. I enjoyed those broadcasts a lot. I assume it wouldn't cost much to have him to do that again this year for the games that are not on TV or radio.
  12. I did that promotion last year, and I was able to sign up again for that promotion today.
  13. Doesn't Rafael Devers always have chewing tobacco in his mouth? Could that be why they're doing this? lol
  14. This is not the kind of news that I want to be hearing on the first day of spring training. I hope MASN and Comcast both understand how many people will be negatively affected if they don't come to an agreement.
  15. I've also heard rumors that the first ST game will be on MASN too. If they were smart, they would coordinate it so that the 7 televised games do not coincide at all with the 12 (?) radio games.
  16. As far as I know, the O's radio broadcasters will be on-site in Florida. Not sure about the Nationals TV guys.
  17. Saw this Q&A in the MLB Trade Rumors chat today: "1:18 It seems like the O's need another bullpen addition to be a true WS contender..should they be trying to trade for an RP addition? Steve Adams 1:20 I think they need another rotation addition more than another bullpen addition. Baltimore's projected payroll is $95MM. It's wild to me that they're not all over Snell and Montgomery. Maybe they are and are just good at keeping it close to the vest, but there's no team with a more obvious blend of available payroll space and need. Plus they only have Burnes for one year, so why stop at acquiring him?"
  18. Jacob Calvin Meyer posted a later update on Twitter saying there will be 7 televised O's games this year, just like the Nats. But MASN is probably the only network in MLB that is doing remote spring training broadcasts this year. I could understand it in 2021, but in 2024 it makes no sense. There's no valid excuse, in my opinion, to not send the broadcasters to Florida.
  19. Rich Dubroff wrote this in his Q&A column this morning. Question: With new ownership in place, do you see any possible changes to the number of radio and television broadcasts in spring training? From: @Blackbirds83 Answer: Not for this spring training. The Orioles are going to broadcast 12 games on radio, and I think they’ll all be Friday, Saturday and Sunday games as they have in the past. The Nationals announced last week they’ll be televising seven games, and the Orioles are contractually obligated to the same number. In the future, it’s possible that the Orioles bring back streaming of Grapefruit League games that aren’t on WBAL/98 Rock, and perhaps increasing the number of games on TV, but that’s for 2025. I hope that the official announcement will be coming soon.
  20. We play the Red Sox on March 16, not 18. The March 16 game is not showing up on the list that I found of Red Sox game broadcasts. I expect that the MLB app (MLB TV) will pick up the March 21st broadcast. The March 17th radio broadcast (vs Tigers) will be on the MLB app & MLB TV. Also, the Pirates announced their broadcast schedule: The Feb 25 & Mar 3 games in Bradenton will be televised on AT&T SportsNet and MLB TV. Feb 29, Mar 6, & Mar 22 in Sarasota will be on Pirates radio and MLB TV (radio broadcasts only, no TV, unless MASN televises them). All games on MLB TV will also be on the MLB app. I'm currently counting 11 O's game broadcasts so far. That doesn't include MASN games (which will hopefully be announced in the next several days) and doesn't include the Rays, Braves, Twins, Yankees, & Blue Jays, who also haven't announced their broadcast schedules yet. So the final total should be much more than 11.
  21. The Nationals announced their ST broadcast schedule today. Not sure why the Orioles didn't do it at the same time. The Nats are televising 7 ST games (including their Futures game) and will also have approximately 13 games on the radio. I hope the O's will at least match that.
  22. There's no excuse for broadcasters to be calling the games remotely. Unfortunate that MASN is still living in 2020/2021.
  23. He said he put in for a week of vacation starting last Friday. That's all we know publicly.
  24. Garrett seems to have a beef with everyone. He was front & center in a major brawl with the Pirates in 2019 (left the mound and charged the Pirates dugout): https://www.cincinnati.com/story/sports/mlb/reds/2020/07/30/amir-garrett-cincinnati-reds-pittsburgh-pirates-brawl/5540276002/ So I say "no" to him.
