  1. “The Orioles march to the best of their own drum. They are weird” sounds https://youtu.be/0vRiION-sQE
  2. If you are an NBA fan, Banchero mysteriously moved up and people discounted the move, but it was right!https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nba/news/paolo-banchero-nba-draft-betting-odds-magic-pick/hbkurcqeueoolhupu0sfmswd
  3. I have no idea why Johnson would be in serious consideration so that’s probably the guy lol.
  4. Nice! Long overdue. I would put no timetable on him. None. Let the kid play. It’s just Delmarva clearly is not helping his development at this point. Let’s take it one step at a time.
  5. I completely agree with you on Nevin here, his time is likely running out. I just think he is a guy that may take longer with adjustments and may need a set position to feel comfortable. I think he will be more successful than here. The potential is there. I also think Guterriez deserves a longer look at 3b but clearly I am in the minority there.
  6. Who do you think they take Frobby? I am highly doubtful it will be Jones. I think Holiday/Lee/Parada are best options after Jones. Green would be with a bit too much risk for my liking but would appreciate the thinking if they think they can fix his holes. Collier, given his age, seems intriguing but not sure at 1:1. If Elias does, what I am sure he will do, it won’t be Jones, I’d rather him trade someone for another comp balance pick and far exceed to draft slots and pay the penalty. Os have had a putrid payroll and can certainty afford the penalty but highly unlikely that will happen either. I don’t think most understand you CAN spend over the slots. Over 5% more comes with penalty but I bet the Mets go hog wild this year with overslot/pay penalty and it’s something we should do. In that scenario, or any really, you should take BPA. But hey, it’s Elias, so highly unlikely it happens and everyone will normalize the misguided aporoach. You don’t need to “save” anything if you just pay a penalty, so this whole absurd conversation about under/over slot is nonsense. Os have had a bottom payroll tier payroll forever, spend the money. Take BPA.
  7. Berry was linked to Os earlier on, then it was Collier then Johnson. I like the healthy debate of ideas approach but most of the board is likely more supportive of a dictator approach I bet:) Not sure I buy that is his approach honestly. Where are you getting this info from specifically? Do you have personal knowledge? Please explain how you know his intimate approach in selecting a candidate?
  8. Orioles org has been such a dysfunctional mess. Fans have been conditioned to trade anyone that has value for fear they may underperform. Likely not how you turn a perennial loser to a winner.
  9. I’d rather have Dylan Lesko 1:1 than some other Elias Coupon Corner options like Berry. Jones being a Boras guy likely eliminates him as 1:1 for the O’s, guaranteed. Best hope for us is Holiday or Lee.
  10. Nunez was a pretty successful hitter at the ML level with impressive power unlike Nevin at this point. Also, without looking up fielding stats, Nevin a bit better defensively and can play more positions. Not sure how those two are related. I know it’s cool to crap all over players when they are failing but not sure Nevin can’t still be a successful major league player in the right situation.
  11. This is a no brained BUT with the braves org, always a major injury is imminent so my guess that shoulder injury he had last year could be more. If he gets to us, worth more than st least 5/40 on the roster, particularly if he has to go to 60 day DL.
  12. I think Nevin is running out of time here but to be clear, I think in another org with slightly more time he could be a good asset. A change of scenery could help him. Doubt you get much in a trade but would help him, Angels?
  13. It’s 2 games. Twins def have his number. Did you not think he would ever face adversity?
  14. Twins have Lopez’ number, doesn’t look bad to me out there.
  15. 1 for 1, OPS at 1.146, I was in the pro-patience category but this seems like wasted time, time for Aberdeen.
  16. We agreed last year it seems. Completely but I look at composite lists. I think that’s all you can can do unless you are confident in your scouting abilities. I would love to see most accurate scouting source, does that exist?
  17. I love Keith Law personally. Frankly, I respect the hell out of him. But I realize his accuracy isn’t the best. I am sure he’s a first round talent, not 1:1 bc of position & tool set.
  18. Love the commentary, this is the kinda stuff we should be doing, good sign. Execution is key
  19. No. No way in heck. Johnson is not a first round talent/not a premium position. All this board talks is savings like they are clipping coupons. Take the BPA and likely that is one of Jones, Holiday, Lee, Green or even Parada. Teams can go over their pool and people act like you can’t do that. We have cut the payroll the past 5 years to putrid levels, why not take those savings and go overslot in all rounds & pay the penalty over 5%? Because Orioles are cheap and embarrassing but it could be done. All this nonsense on going underslot is a fabricated storyline like it’s a hard cap, it’s not. So please spare me why we should take a 2nd in the first. Complete and utter nonsense, and why our org never gets better, fans don’t demand better, just complacency.
  20. Why not a Santander for Yardborough+ deal from Tampa? Tampa needs OFers and Yardborough gets a more pitcher friendly park in a division he knows well. Also signed through 2024?I believe?
