  1. Have not figured out the purpose of Aguilar, it certainly isn’t for offense.
  2. I have faith that Our pitching will get the job done. I’m more concerned that our offense will not perform.
  3. It’s only 2-0 but Orioles look like they have ZERO energy. Really hard to watch this lackluster offense.
  4. Is it just me, or do our announcers seem to talk up the other teams much more than the O’s. These guy’s are downright excited about the Red Sox.
  5. Pretty certain that was England. Canada didn’t become a country until 1867.
  6. Kevin could talk 50% less without the useless stats and he would be a much better announcer.
  7. Tough to beat the Jays AND an umpire with a constantly changing strike zone. This guy is terribly inconsistent.
  8. Why would any site post the “odds” for a specific game or playoff outcome if not to influence or encourage betting in some form or another? Oh yeah, “entertainment value.” As for what they get out of it (beyond the obvious membership or ad revenue) I don’t know, nor do you. BTW, I don’t care if they get a kickback from a gambling site. Nor do I care if people bet on sports. Not my business. I just think it is naive to believe that a site that spends so much time, energy and money to crunch as much data as they do is doing it just for the fans. You can believe otherwise, I won’t hold it against you.
  9. THIS. Also remember that the main purpose of fan graphs (and other similar sites)is not to provide information for the fans, but to influence gambling in one form or another.
  10. Kevin Brown should be fired just for saying that “Moonstruck” is a great movie.
  11. I have to admit that both my wife and I started with the margaritas early for this game, both wearing our Orioles jersey’s for good luck. Although Bradish has looked really good with the last couple of starts, we NEVER expected such an awesome outing, particularly against the Astro’s. It is obvious that Bradish and the Oriole’s pitching staff have been fine tuning things. Moving him to the 1st base side of the rubber puts his slider in a much better location and allows inside pitching to right handed batters. GO O’s!!
  12. Sometimes Kevin Brown should just STFU. Gives me a migraine with his statistical banalities.
  13. This umpires strike zone is like a shifting amoeba every inning. Zero consistency.
  14. You can help a young pitcher many ways to improve, but you can not teach mental toughness.
  15. A low ERA is easier to have when the batters only see your stuff once.
  16. Up and in at 97. Certainly not a hanging curve in the middle of the plate.
  17. Way too many wasted opportunities to score. We are giving this game away.
  18. Likely to see Bradish start Saturday against the Reds.

  19. Not claiming victory, just noting the extreme ebb and flow over his prospects. One question about the relevance of those statistics: If you were told on Monday that Bradish would be using his fastball and slider 82.1% of the time, would you have predicted that he would throw 7 innings and have 11 k's? If not, then the value of those statistics is more as a historical record, not an accurate predictor of future success. Nor a predictor of future pitch choice and/or development.
  20. That's what all the scouts and statistics predicted.
