There's a piece in the NY Times about the Yankees likely missing the playoffs this year. The article itself isn't so interesting -- lots of "We have the talent here" and "It's frustrating to keep coming up short" fluff -- but what caught my eye was the pic at the top, of Sidney Ponson leaving the game on Monday.

Is it me, or is Sidney suffering from some sort of head-shrinking, neck-reducing condition? His head looks like it was Photoshopped on, and his neck, well, is gone.

I mean, he was never a physical specimen to be admired, but this just looks weird to me. Maybe it's the contrast of smallish melon with big belly....
