  1. It’s not October yet. We’re on pace for 107 wins even with the Kimbrel blown saves. We’re only asking our SP to go 90-100 pitches so of course we’re going to be relying on our bullpen a ton. Heck, they’re covering 33% - 40% of the outs even on a “good” night for the SP. So yeah, outside of Kimbrel, they’ve been really good.
  2. Yeah, this whole Kimbrel drama situation is really taking away from how unbelievable this Bradish situation has turned out. I don’t think anyone would’ve guessed back to top 5 CYA level within 40 games into the season. Not a chance. But he’s there. We are beyond spoiled with SP right now compared to where we’ve been. Best rotation since the 96-97 teams? 2014? Better?
  3. I have no problem being contrarian, but this one is too early/soon for me. Hays can at least be our 2nd best defensive OF.
  4. If Mateo has to go to the IL then I think he we see Mayo or Norby up. Advantage Mayo because both have to be added to the 40 man this winter, and Mayo is a better 3B then Norby is a 2B. Well at least for us right now at the MLB level. All things considered. We'd have to DFA someone to make that happen. Probably Ort or Krook.
  5. The move I like for Nats games is to park at the Greenbelt Metro, take the metro in. Then either take the metro back to Greenbelt after the game or just get an uber/lyft. Traffic on 295 is literally hell on earth.
  6. It's easy to say "Well, there will be errors..." but look at what we're accustomed to this season, 2024 Infield Errors Gunnar - 3 Mateo - 3 Urias - 1 Westburg - 0 Mountcastle - 1 Holliday - 0
  7. How so? 2-7 we probably have a top 5-10ish pen in baseball. Removing Kimbrel and Baumann. Playing at a 107 win clip we probably need another high leverage arm to sustain that, and preferably a closer for the playoffs.
  8. One of the best, immediate, reverse jinx threads ever. Mountcastle hits a game winning home run hours later. You can’t make that up. We all should’ve bet the HR prop.
  9. He threw a pretty stiff punch at the mound last night. That’s about it. He probably needs the Ubaldo pot hole treatment. There’s not enough consistent low leverage innings going around at the mlb level. Although, I don’t know what a stint in the minors would do other than sharpen his command. He can’t get by with the FB on anywhere near FB counts, and he can’t consistently pinpoint the curve for strikes. Batters are just laying off then teeing off on him. These dudes pitch their whole life’s so I wouldn’t be surprised if Kimbrel adjusts and incorporates more of a two seamer or cutter. He’s a pro. He’s got to make pro adjustments.
  10. If Mateo re-injured his hip, we might be seeing Mayo shortly. Maybe a debut Friday.
  11. Crap, that’s a tough pill to swallow, but it might be true. McKenna just might need more reps to fix the gaffes. Hays has early onset grandpa syndrome.
  12. Are we sure Kevin Brown isn’t AI? I need to see a “live” birth certificate.
  13. Welp, it’s looking like this will be a thing. Nothing official yet, except for Kimbrel’s blown saves. It looks like we’ll have Cano and Coloumbe be our highest leverage relievers with Webb, Suarez, Perez, and Akin just a notch below them. Kimbrel probably needs a phantom IL stint at this point to find whatever he’s lost. We don’t have too many low leverage consistent innings at the MLB level. Has the bullpen by committee worked recently? Is that how the Dodgers found Evan Phillips? Boston tried it years ago, but shortly ditched it after a rough start.
  14. I think the CL/SU potential is there with Suarez. Maybe we need to get him adjusted to going for more K’s with our analytics/pitching lab. He’s got the tools. He’s just got to prepare for shorter, more frequent stints, and to shrink down the pitch arsenal while going for K’s.
  15. What about the playoffs though? Personally, that’s why I don’t like this stat, but others can.
