  1. It looks like it was batting practice for the BaySox.
  2. Don’t want to stray too far off topic, but how has retirement been for you? I’m still eight or so years away, but many of my slightly older colleagues are starting to retire and it’s been interesting watching the variation in what they are doing and how they feel about the transition.
  3. 7 shutout innings from Grod as a starter would be super helpful to the bullpen.
  4. The Orioles have the best record in baseball against teams with > .500 winning percentage. .737 against winning teams. That’s about as good as it gets.
  5. There were also 28 scheduled double headers in 1938. Hard to compare because the eras were so different. Both streaks clearly super freakish. p.s. Apparently there were 41 scheduled double headers in 1941, but Gehrig was done by then.
  6. Yes, yes it will. It will be "umm, yeah."
  7. I totally hear you, not really disagreeing, and it sucks. BUT, I'm not sure that it really matters in terms of fandom. The vast majority of NFL fans won't attend an NFL game in person in their life. Another chunk might attend one or two games in their entire life. I know die hard college football fans who have literally never stepped foot on a college campus. Sports are kind of weird that way IMO. Almost by definition, as the sport gets more and more popular a smaller and smaller percentage of the fan base will see a live event. Taylor Swift can somewhat address that "issue" by going on insanely long tours that sample a crazy broad geographic range, but not so much in sport. Attending a professional baseball game is an almost magical event to me. The nice stadiums really are the cathedrals of our society in a way and it's just a special experience. I wish all fans could experience it. But a lot of them never do and yet maintain extreme fandom. Sorry for the semi-random post. I'm in pontification mode.
  8. I’m not hitting on you or anything, but you are a big part of the OH community and definitely an interesting poster. Heck, I’ve even streamed music based on your recommendations to the board. You go nuts every now and then, but that happens to most of us on here from time to time.
  9. CoC is interesting. Weightlifter guy is far, far from interesting.
  10. Middle school in 1993!! Man, I thought you were about ten years older than you are. It's the wisdom, I guess.
