  1. I can't see the spouse having to pay estate taxes because it's really half her team already by MD law.
  2. Haha, I've seen what Liranzo is doing for sure, especially power wise. In his last 111 PAs he's slashing .306/.460/.518/.977 with four homes and 19/19 K/BB. Very impressive for a kid who doesn't turn 17 for four more days. So yes, good observation. Liranzo is certainly a good news story this year amongst the International players and while I'll need to talk to some folks before making any full assessment where he is a prospect, his size, bat speed, and plate discipline along with his age makes him very, very intriguing. He very well may be the best positional international prospect behind Basallo though Tavera has been pretty good in the FCL. Obviously Almeyda's injuries this year have made it very hard to judge him at all based on his stats, so you still have to consider him from the tools/potential side. Estrada also was limited by injuries so it's hard to know how much they've affected his production. Sosa and Leandro Arias have taken nice steps forward as well.
  3. I saw that passing the buck statement as well. This is John Angelos on anything bad:
  4. To be an Orioles fan, you always have to separate ownership from the baseball operations side of things when it comes to your fandom.
  5. What is actually your problem? Are you reading any posts here. I literally haven't read one positive Angelos post in this entire thread. So who are you actually talking about? We get it, you hate Angelos. Stop attacking posters on here for doing something they are not doing.
  6. I assume this is just position prospects right? If not, you missed DeLeon for sure.
  7. Yes, he has plus arm strength.
  8. It's not just height but the chest and waist size that typically suggests future growth and weight. Basallo has been pretty good overall behind the plate and his throwing continues to improve at each level which is quite the opposite of most catching prospects. His top of the chart flexibility certainly helps for him sticking at catcher and there is certainly no reason to move him right now. Moving him between catcher and first base is a great way to develop him. I could imagine a catching/first base duo of Basallo and Rutschman whether neither has to catch more than 80 games and keeping them and their bats fresh over a season.
  9. Actually, I was able to watch last night's game on the MASN site on my laptop, so that worked. Thanks.
  10. Haha. True on podcast and Twitter. I do peruse Twitter but it's a pretty big wasteland still out there so I don't get too much into it. As for podcasts, eh, the juice is not worth the squeeze for me. Too much work for little monetary incentive unless you can get syndicated and no Orioles podcast is going to get syndicated. I did have a flip phone at one point! They were awesome!
  11. Lol, why would you say that? Of course I have a smart phone! I check the Hangout all the time when I'm away from my computer/laptop on my phone. I use several browsers to see if there are problems.
  12. Well I'm down in Nagshead, NC and the house I'm renting doesn't have MASN. But, despite being 6 and half hours from Baltimore, my MLB TV is blacked out. Good Lord I hate the stupid blackout rules.
  13. Some is the word you are missing in that statement. Some.

    Coby Mayo 2023

I think some people forget how young Mayo is and they get too concerned too quickly when he has a hiccup at a new level. He's too good of a hitter to not hit eventually. Some people need to remember he would have been drafted this year had he gone to college and not signed with the Orioles out of highschool? Imagine drafting a guy out of college and him already being in AAA after tearing up AA?
  15. I tend to agree with this. There's a reason a 6-foot-6 Japanese pitcher who can throw 103 MPH was available on a 1/$3.5 million deal with Oakland. I think the concern has always been his ability to consistently command his pitches. We've seen good Fuji and bad Fuji. Thankfully we've seen more good than bad so far, but I still can't say I have complete confidence in him.
  16. What a game for Cedric of course. The defense alone shows how much we've missed him out there and how special he really is in CF. It's been a tough year for him health wise, but he shows he can be game changing on either offense or defense at any moment.
  17. You were nicer than me, but thanks for hiding the posts. For those who took part, please take @Legend_Of_Joey's warning to heart. Next time you get will get time off.
  18. We will not agree on this at all. I agree with Elias that it is not the time to bring up Holliday for many reasons.
  19. You would think by how some fans on Facebook/Twitter react. Bautista was always going to be fine. Fans have to realize how special is it has been when he's completely dominant like he was for most of this year. Like any pitcher/player, they are going to have "slumps" so a few games where he didn't have his command was not a big deal.
  20. Manny was also in his 2nd full season of minor league ball, had over 900 minor league PAs and most importantly, the Orioles had a huge hole at 3B on their roster. Also, Duquette was never playing for six years down the road or even concerned about controllability and I'm certain that plays a part on Elias' moves. With Urias, Frazier and Westburg all playing well, and Henderson pretty entrenched at SS, there is not real place for him to play and no one knows how he would handle the two level jump. Elias has never jumped a player completely over AAA as he's brought them up and spoken often about the need to for player to get through different "hoops". So as amazing of a season as Holliday is having, I think there is about a 0.1% chance Elias brings him up this year and starts his clock, and loses a 40-man spot this offseason that he wouldn't have to lose otherwise. It just would be a major change in M.O. by Elias, and again, when you look at this team, I don't think there is a major need right now in the lineup that would be worth starting his clock for.
  21. Yeah, but I think that was a playful dig over the "uproar" that he caused before about the new King Felix.
  22. I'm on vacation down in Nagshead so didn't see the game but I did watch highlights. At the very end of the game, I thought it was funny when Brown said "It truly was a Felix night!"
