  1. You would think he and Holt know this, but here we are once again.
  2. They'll never ask that. They are too scared not to be buddy buddy.
  3. I don't think he was warmed up properly. Was Voth warming when Bautista was warming or only after the Mullins HR? Voth has always been a guy who needs a bit to warm up which is why he typically needs a whole half an inning to get warmed.
  4. Good Lord our infield defense is a sham right now. No way that ball should have gotten through.
  5. Ha, that's when I walked out to go do something.
  6. You have to wonder of Voth had enough time warm up? Hyde loves to get guys up and out quickly.
  7. Stepped out for a second. Did I miss anything special?
  8. Hoping Cano for the 9th, but probably Bautista.
  9. Quite the home run. Not sure I want Coulombe pitching in tie games in the 7th or later against power hitting right-handed hitters.
  10. XBA of that ball was surprisingly only .150. Maybe Cedric had a bad jump?
  11. Damn, that was a hell of a catch by Mullins!
  12. It does seem like the way to keep yourself employed, but eventually it gets you let go. See Hunter and Bordick.
  13. Santander has been good of late. Just had a bad PA there.
  14. I can enjoy some fun, but I think they may be playing up this bird bath. When the announcers are like, "We didn't sore, but we ignited the bird bath!" I think the floor has been lowered on what fans should be excited about.
  15. The thing is, when Ben started part time, he was very good at being honest. It seems like someone had a talk to him and told him to go to the Jim Hunter school of broadcasting minus the two-game hitting streak comments. Now Ben does make some good comments, but he and Brown can get a little too forgiving when it's obvious a bad play by the player.
  16. I really don't like him Ben McDonald has become this huge apologists. He needs to call out Mateo on that throw, not give credit to the speed of the runner forcing Mateo's error. And I don't care what the knucklehead game scorer ruled, that's an error by Mateo.
  17. Awful throw by Mateo. That's a Little League throw. He has to be able to make that throw.
  18. Frazier would have been safe if he ran hard the whole way. Looked like a lollygagger there!
  19. I've never subscribed to Fangraphs value estimations either. At the end of the day, you don't spend $8 million on a player when you have others already on hand much cheaper. It's a bad use of limited resources.
  20. He does not and is why he will have a long leash. there is a better chance of him stepping in an "Ubaldo pothole" and going on the IL before he will be DFA'd.
  21. We are not getting the production to what Elias is paying him if you go by fWAR, which definitely seems more realistic that erratic rWAR numbers. Either way, I would have gladly taken the 7.25 million extra that you didn't have to pay a rookie and put that into the starting rotation or into a contract for a MOO. Elias risk aversion and misreading of the market and his prospects readiness is why Frazier is on this team at his ridiculous salary.
  22. I do think he wasted $8 million because I feel he could have gotten as much or better performance from Westburg or Ortiz at 2B. It's not that I think Frazier is a terrible player, but he definitely is nowhere near worth $8 million. The Orioles had major league ready prospects ready and if not, that had Urias ready. No one will ever convince me, no matter what the year Frazier ends up having, that he was smart signing at the exorbitant amount of $8 million for his services. If Frazier was signed for say $3 million and had Vavra's role, I'd like him a lot more, because that's the role that I think he brings value to the team in. I watch a lot of Ortiz in Norfolk and there is no doubt in my mind Ortiz is a better overall player than Frazier is right now. Does anyone on here think the roster would not be better with Ortiz as the everyday 2B and Frazier as the 26th man instead of Vavra? I have literally nothing against Frazier as he seems like a good little hustler, a smart player, and guy that makes contact and will do little things here and there to help. If he was the 26th man doing this, he'd be a fan favorite. Instead, he's getting run out there everyday while a better player sits in AAA because Elias misread the market and misread his current player's capabilities.
  23. I'll be honest, I find Frazier to be an average fielder at best. He makes most plays though he seems better going to his left than right. His lack of arm strength has seen them come up a split second short on a few DP chances though his turns are pretty quick. I have definitely started using fWAR more as I feel it gives a better true indicator. To me, Frazier is probably a little above replacement level so I could buy 0.3 WAR.
  24. I saw him earlier in the year during a nice outing but wasn't blown away by him. If I remember correctly, he was 91-92 who flashed a nice slider occasionally, but I'll have to relook at my notes when I get a chance. I am keeping an eye on him though. The Orioles must not think too much of his durability and stuff since he's pitching purely in relief and has gone over two innings only once and has been kept under 25 pitches in his last five outings. He'll need to pick up velocity if he's only a reliever.
  25. I knew a scout a few years ago that liked him, but I was never really on him. I never thought he had a consistent out pitch and makes too many mistakes. He's just kind of one of those blah stuff guys that is 24-years old in High-A ball for a reason. Now, saying that, I have not seen him this year because the Sally League is an absolute hole for good MilbTV broadcasts. If he has some sustained success I'm sure he get his chance in AA and I'll get another read on him. Sometimes you never know what these guys do from year to year to remake themselves so maybe he's found something interesting to work from. Either way, that was a real nice outing for him.
