  1. Interesting. I'm hoping they go with an upside starting pitcher with this next pick.
  2. The 4 top pitching prospect available (according to MLB.com) are all high school arms in Brock Porter, Brandon Barriera, Robby Snelling, and Jackson Ferris. Do you think any of them could make it to the Orioles at #33?
  3. Man, I know I'm getting old, but if Holliday was telling you who has favorite player was, you'd think he just finished up his Little League World Series interview.
  4. Well no offense, then you are not very astute at identifying human nature and mannerisms. lol
  5. Just an observation from watching the show. Tough or not, he comes across as very immature and unpolished, particularly for a college catcher.
  6. Well, since I think a lot of teams are calling pitches for their catchers now, I don't think being bright is a big requirement anymore for that positions, but listening to him after listening to some of the others including highschoolers like Jones and Johnson, shows him to be a step behind in polish.
  7. Let's hope he moves as fast as Witt Jr. Maybe by the time Henderson outgrows SS, Holliday will be ready.
  8. He has to feel he can stick at SS to take him 1-1. If you think he's a second baseman, you have to go with Termarr Johnson. I will say that Elias has said the same thing about a few other guy that look like they move to other positions, but let's hope this time it works out. He's not very big at 6-1, so he shouldn't outgrow the position.
  9. I don't have a strong opinion since I don't do the homework needed to have a strong opinion, but when I here things like the best high school hitter in decades, it makes me interested. Johnson also beats Holliday in almost every category when it comes to torso and hand speed. We'll see how much those matter. Johnson also doesn't look 13 years old. lol
  10. Johnson seems like just a 1st rate kid on top of being a great hitter. Hopefully the Orioles didn't miss on him because he was short and probably a 2nd baseman. I'll root for him.
  11. DO NOT TALK ABOUT THE DRAFT IN THIS THREAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Only Orioles draft talk.
  12. Ok, I wanna stop this conversation. Go back to the other thread if you want to keep this conversation going. I want this thread focused on this Orioles draft! Thanks.
  13. It certainly should come into the situation if two players are basically even on your board.
  14. Well I'll be the first to say that I'm not a draft expert, but I'll say that the Perfect Game info swayed me to Johnson. Holliday is the only one I'm a little down based off his perfect game info where it looks like he has plateaued a bit. If his arm was better I'm like him a bit more. Jones is still probably the most talented overall, but with the new Camden Yards, I'm betting they go with a left-handed hitter or at least switch hit with this pick taking Jones out.
  15. If anyone "melts down" over Johnson then I'd like to know why? Go look at his information on his hand speed and other stuff and he's best in the class, bar none. I like Jones of course, and will not be upset if he's selected, but Johnson will be a good pick if he's the selection.
