  1. Really nice to see him throwing that curve a lot today. That gives him a nice pitch with a change a velocity. Seeing the arm strength back is huge.
  2. He played his first full season last year between Delmarva and Aberdeen. He held his own but at he didn't really show anything at the plate that made you think he was a prospect. Nice arm though.
  3. I think Cowser is a more mature hitter than Stowers just without the raw power. I could see him getting the Rutschman treatment. Starts at AA, ends up in AAA. Gets an injury next spring and magically arrives after his 7th year of control is attained. I think he could move that fast!
  4. I can buy this scenario a bit, especially if Mancini hits more like his 2019 version. I do think Stowers should push Santander off RF by mid-late year and that would move him to DH. Santander could be Mancini's replacement next year. I also would not bet against Cowser making huge jumps this year.
  5. Basically this means they settled on a $7.75K contract for this year which was about halfway.
  6. Lineups: https://www.masnsports.com/school-of-roch/2022/04/orioles-lineup-vs-twins-38.html Cedric Mullins CF Ryan Mountcastle 1B Anthony Santander DH Robinson Chirinos C Rougned Odor 2B Kelvin Gutiérrez 3B Tyler Nevin LF Ryan McKenna RF Richie Martin SS Dean Kremer RHP Looks like they are giving some of the bubble guys every opportunity. Odor, McKenna, Martin, and Nevin all getting a lot of playing time.
  7. The position is the only thing that gives Rutschman a little edge if you value a top hitting catcher being much more valuable than what's available. I'll be honest, looking at his numbers last year, I'd have to give Witt the edge of Rutschman due to his age and the fact he still plays a high value position (SS).
  8. Agreed. He's been awful. It will be interesting what Elias decides to do here because right now I think this team is better without him and has enough depth at the position that he's not needed. I just think the Orioles would like a 2B bat in there somewhere!
  9. If I never hear Jordan Lyles interviewed again I will be fine. His "um" per word ratio and monotine voice was distracting. Nice 1-2-3 by Scott. He needed that.
  10. I mean they want a Left-handed bat on their bench. I truly think they want Odor to be that guy but he's playing himself off the team in my estimation. He's been terrible. I don't think anyone thought he would be this bad. He can't make good contact at all.
  11. I'm not buying it. The Orioles have plenty of SP depth this year with guys who need to be evaluated. Means Lyles Zimmermann T. Wells Lowther Kremer Akin Baumann Bradish Eventually Grayson Rodriguez And then you have A. Wells along with Ellis and Watkins as break glass in case of Emergency. I don't see where washed up Harvey fits.
  12. He's been playing a lot of 3B from what I've seen. I do think he's going to play his share at 3B while at Bowie but they have to figure out playing time between him and Henderson as well as Ortiz at SS.
  13. Nice 5 inning outing for Lyles. Wasn't exactly the major league squad for the Phillies, but he threw strikes.
  14. I don't think Harvey will go to the minors again. I think we have enough SP depth that we shouldn't need him.
  15. Nice quick and strong throw by Westburg at 3B and nice turn by Odor on that 5-4-3.
  16. It's gotta be hard to be into the game watching it on monitors.
  17. Castellanos strikes out. Newman, "Castellanos falls behind in the count."
  18. Let me tell you, Odor is bringing nothing to the field right now. He's got to show something here.
  19. There's that improve slider. Missed away but it was nice.
