  1. This announcers asks some dumb questions, but KY certainly is able to slide his responses right in there with no problems.
  2. Yeah, I'm actually rooting for at least one team to make double digit errors.
  3. These guys are playing like 61 degrees is cold. lol At least the Pirates are playing almost as bad.
  4. Mountcastle is a strong young man. Wind helped of course, but he put a charge into that.
  5. I'm starting think calling this a Little League effort is disgrace to a good Little League teams.
  6. Good Lord, did Gunnar Henderson get picked off when he wasn't even trying to steal?
  7. Professionals should be able to do their jobs under any circumstances. The disinterest on the field, when they know the game is being televised speaks to the volumes of their character and perhaps their respect for Hyde. I know this is going to be a long season, but I hope they would at least be scrappy.
  8. True, but they should act like they care a bit. Galvis "olays" Sevarino's crappy throw. Mullins is slow to back up in center field and then absolutely misreads an easy fly ball. Mullins has been slumping with his bat of late and seems to be disinterested in CF right now as he's moping. Santander almost gets thrown out at home on what should have been an easy read on a deep fly ball. Galvis stands and watches the play in the on deck circle instead of getting out there and letting Santander know if he needs to slide or not. Just really poor fundamentals and from what i see, a general lack of caring from the starters. then look at this play by Hays in CF? Are you kidding me?
  9. Sanchez certainly is not alleviating any concerns with his bat. He's been a zero at the plate.
  10. Hyde brings his A team to Bradenton for TV and they go out and put on one of the most embarrassing, unprofessional innings I've ever seen from a major league team.
  11. I could give two shits if the Orioles win in spring training, but maybe attempt to look like a major league team.
  12. Keystone freaking cops. Just an utterly embarrassing inning for a professional club. Misreads in the outfield, Ruiz stupid play, Severino looking like he could care less, Sanchez playing like he could care less. Honestly, just a disgusting effort.
  13. I really was not impressed at all with the pitch calling in that inning. Kremer's cutter has been his best pitch and when he's throwing his fastball, Severino kept trying to put his glove low and away when it should have been up and in with Kremer's fastball.
  14. Wow, this got bad really quick. Kremer suddenly started living in the middle of the plate and just got hammered.
  15. 32 pitches in two innings is pretty good overall nowadays.
  16. The one year at a level works with some players, but special players should not need that. Teams have been slow rolling players for years because of the rules allow them to keep them to up to 10 years after being drafted before they can reach free agency. If they dropped that to 8 years of control for players drafted at 19 and younger, and six years for players 20 and older whether they play in the minors or majors, we'd see a lot more young players playing in the major leagues.
  17. Looking at the You tube content available for old orioles games, it's amazing they can't show some of these or do some research and actually show classic games like the Orioles-Brewers double header sweep at the end of the year or the game after where Shelby through out the runner at the plate to keep the lead. Instead we get some lame game from two years ago with the Orioles come back to win. It's really just pure laziness and a lack of true Orioles fans working at the network. Where are the fancy editing that MLB network uses to show highlights? Why aren't they out there getting game video of prospects in the minors? There is just so much more they could do that would make MASN fantastic but they really just do the bare minimum. Really the best thing MASN does is on the website where Roch and Malewski do a good job or reporting information.
  18. I agree with most of what you say here, but I think this comes down to who he protected instead. A healthy Pop has a better chance of either being part of a winning future or being moved as a piece for a player than Goudeau, Sulser or Lakins ever will. For a team that is being pretty consistent with staying on goal, this was a mistake. Even if they have the concerns you mentioned, none of which are outlandish, he still has more value than those three. I think he just thought no one would take Pop because of his layoff and maybe due to the fact Elias/Sig seem to have an issue with sinkers being a good pitch. Either way, I think allowing a healthy Pop be left unprotested with the players they protected, on top of the players they selected in the Rule 5 draft shows they miscalculated a bit here. I call them as I see them and I think this goes down as a mistake. How big a mistake will be determined by how well Pop pitches now and more importantly, in the next 2-4 years.
  19. Yep, it also says the 1st time he faces a batter as a SP in 2020 he held them to the slash line I provided before. Look, if you want me to tell you LeBlanc is very good I'm not going to make that argument. My only argument is I can see them wanting some length guys in the pen and he fits that over a guy like Sulser or Lakins. Basically he could potentially fill a role that will be needed this year because of the lack of innings pitchers pitched last year. If they use him or some other waiver wire fodder, they are probably more valuable then a one inning guys like Sulser or Lakins.
  20. Pop was 96-98 last night though he did give up three hard hits (two were actual hits) in his one inning of work. Statcast classified his fastball as a 2-seamer with an average of 2427 spin. I doubt an arm like that is returned. If someone asked me who would I rather have, Pop or Tyler Wells. I'd take Pop today and twice on Sunday. It appears Elias made a mistake here in leaving Pop unprotected while protecting Goudeau (who he already DFA'd and lost), Lakins and a 31-year old Sulser.
  21. A six man rotation should be the only possibility that LeBlanc is in the rotation without an injury occurring. But yes, LeBlanc can provide length out of the pen and if he doesn't work out, you have guys like Eshelman or waiver wire guys similar to take that role.
  22. Dietz was a guy with a real good arm and literally no idea where the ball was going most of the time. He was a reach as a 2nd rounder due to his lack of experience and mechanics.
  23. Eh, this is an Orioles message board. I don't have an issue with anyone discussing the OD roster or anything else. While the OD lineup is not important to the long term goals for this organization, it's where we're at right now. If it doesn't interest you, you can always mve on to the next thread.
  24. I think his ST performance has little to do with the decision. IF the Orioles want more length in their bullpen, LeBlanc is a natural fit because he's done that job in the past, his changeup first approach is another look compared to the starters, and he's a guy you can DFA if it doesn't work without concerns of losing him. The only thing they are looking for in his spring training work is whether his stuff is on par with the past. If it is, then it's safe to assume he will be similar. Now last year he was not very good overall, but he was effective the 1st time through batting order where batters hit .205/.265/.455/.720 against him last year. That to me bodes well for a guy out of the pen who can get you through the lineup one time effectively and keep a game in check. I wasn't sure the Orioles had room for him on the 40-man but with Goudeau gone, they now do.
  25. Who has the opening credits with the same "angry violin" music from MASN once again? Maybe they'll have their announcers in full HAZMAT suits while sitting in individual protective bubble boy bubbles as they broadcast the games? Nah, they would never do that because it might cost them something, and if there is one thing we know we'll get from MASN, that's things being done on a nickle and dime.
