Who knows - maybe Rocker will be a 2nd rounder next year - for the O's. The comparison is Carter Stewart - who was the 8th pick in the 2018 draft. The Braves determined he had a wrist problem and chose not to sign him. He went to a junior college and did well but saw he probably was not going to be a 1st round pick and chose to sign in Japan - getting a $7 mil deal spread over 6 years. Last I heard, he was doing very well in Japan in 2021 after a tough 2020 season.
Lots could happen before the 22 draft - hopefully a couple pitchers will become worth of the O's pick. I'd love to see the O's use most of their top 10 picks on pitchers.
Let Akin pitch the 8th.
It's like the Seinfeld episode when the tanks below empty on the car's gage, but Kramer wants to keep going - see how far he can keep going.
Your reactions are so bizarrely confrontational sometimes. I was hardly being critical, and I also mentioned where I agreed with him. I think Mayo and Norby are more important prospects than guys like Servideo - who he did mention and who has also barely played pro ball. That's all.
I don't disagree that we have more quantity than quality in the infield, but he left out a couple of important names - Mayo and Norby - maybe because they're more long-term?
We definitely need to add more high-end pitching prospects. This year's class of O's pitching rookies particularly showed that quantity is useless without quality.
Hey, when I was a little kid, I believed my father when he said Frank and Brooks were brothers. Later, it was like finding out they lied about Santa Claus.
