  1. I'm going to go 63-99 and I feel like I'm being optimistic. But I'm not upset. That's what a total tear down and rebuild is. Our pitching is going to royally suck this season.
  2. My main thing is I want to see him bunt or hit against the shift, see the ball better, take walks and get on base more.
  3. The think with Davis was in his good years, even when he wasn't hitting well, he was still walking and getting on base, so you could put up with the streaky hitting as he was still productive. We fans also get very frustrated as is looks like if he would just bunt the ball down the 3B line, he could be on base every single time. The defense would then have to eventually shift back somewhat to cover that, opening up the field to him again. We are frustrated because it seems as though zero effort has ever been made on his part to learn this skill, to adapt. There are also the rumors that he hasn't been working hard to get back to being a better hitter. I always liked Davis, but he has to be on a very short leash right now. He needs to sit on the bench and become a part time player for however long we keep him on this team.
  4. Pride is a big thing to people in the spotlight. Tell him he will not see the field as a starter all season unless he does certain things, whatever you deem those to be that he needs to do. Personally, I would tell him he is only working on bunting against the shift and hitting against the shift all offseason and spring training. When he can do that, then he can start a spring training game.
  5. I don't know what exactly is meant by a blank check. Wins/Losses? Then three years. But I expect improvements in the overall health of the team from top to bottom everyday he is on the job. Just make progress or as Dory said "Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming"
  6. My second favourite team won last night (whoever is playing the Yankees)
  7. For some reason only football matters. Like football players don't stand for national anthem but basketball players do. Why? If the NBA makes them, why is it not a big deal but a big deal if the NFL does?
  8. Think he will stick at 3B. Some people say he needs to go to the OF
  9. Should he be given the 3B job to lose in Spring Training, since we aren't going to be competitive anyway?
  10. And this is the kind of thing that will help the O's sell tickets next year. These guys.
  11. Seriously, if Schoop is non-tendered and becomes a FA, do you try to get him back? If so, at what cost?
  12. So while we seem to have been fleeced in the Gausman deal it appears we are getting back proper payment for the Parra deal of years ago. Just Villar for Schoop seems to have worked out in the short term.
  13. For me Davis sits. Mancini is given first base next year to make or break. Chris can DH occasionally or fill in for an injury. I take Chris from Spring Training and tell him he has to bunt against the shift if he wants back off the bench. That's what he is to focus on and leave him alone till he gets that right.
  14. Good to read that this season for a change.
  15. I've always felt that these things make a big difference (not that the O's don't suck in starting pitching development). I wish there was some way to quantify it. How much of a difference?
  16. No but generally winning 3/4 of our trades is okay with me
  17. This is kinda what I was thinking. I felt like getting him out of the AL East would help him (as it should any pitcher). You win and lose trades. Right now it looks like we winning 3 of 4. I'm cool with that.
  18. Anyone think it's mental with Schoop? New city, new team, new teammates, etc... Wasn't he the one that was surprised and wondered why the O's traded him?
  19. I say we pump him full of steroids and hope it helps. If he gets caught, oh well.
