  1. I don’t have a ton of confidence in that group, but I’m not worried either. The org has a talent for finding talent and coaching it up.
  2. I think Mayo, Westburg, Henderson, Holliday can easily co-exist on the same team. But something has to give at 1B. I’d trade Urias for a low level “project” with upside in ST. I’d also find a taker for O’Hearn. I’d rather use Westburg to help acquire Luzardo, but assuming such a deal isn’t available, I’d make space by moving Urias/O’Hearn.
  3. I was thinking Michael Arias, and not just because Urias for Arias has a nice symmetry to it.
  4. Switch hitting, middle of the order, hits equally well from both sides, beloved in the clubhouse, wants to remain long term. Maybe he doesn’t fit into our plans beyond 2024, but I’m a big fan.
  5. Sorry I’m late to reply to this thread. My answer was Kaleb Ort, so naturally I’m in living in a state of euphoria this morning.
  6. I’ve speculated this before, but I wonder if the negotiated sales price and structure of the deal was improved at some point to cover the tax hit the Angelo’s family would face if selling prior to PA’s passing.
  7. I figured Bradish would be more vulnerable to shoulder issues at some point. I’m not panicked at all, but between these two injuries we should find another starter. I like Wells more than most however. I wouldn’t mind seeing Mateo dealt for a reliever as well.
  8. Just throwing this out there since I was curious enough to group the projected classes. Current Free Agent Class Projections Thru 2024: Corbin Burnes, Anthony Santander, John Means, Craig Kimbrel (’25 team option), Ryan O’Hearn, Danny Coulombe, James McCann Thru 2025: Austin Hays, Cedric Mullins, Dillon Tate, Jorge Mateo Thru 2026: Ryan Mountcastle, Cionel Perez, Cole Irvin, Ramon Urias, Jacob Webb, Keegan Akin Thru 2027: Adley Rutschman, Felix Bautista, Dean Kremer, Tyler Wells, Ryan McKenna Thru 2028: Gunnar Henderson, Kyle Bradish, Yennier Cano, Mike Baumann, Bruce Zimmerman, Bryan Baker Thru 2029: Grayson Rodriguez, Jordan Westburg, Heston Kjerstad, Colton Cowser, Kyle Stowers, Nick Vespi
  9. I love these “problems”! Similarly, I was thinking to myself “which single player/position, if injured and lost for the year, would compel us to make a mid season trade?”
  10. I was on a date last night and someone sitting next to us at the bar heard us talking about the Orioles. He just wanted to let me know that he was a Brewers fan and say thanks for fleecing his team. I tried to console him by saying Ortiz is going be a great player for the Brewers. I thought about bringing up 1982, but nah.
  11. Wouldn’t it be nice if one of McDermott, Povich, Johnson, Baumler emerges as a plus ML starter for us! I agree a Burnes extension is seriously unlikely. What’s the group think on a Means extension? Yes he’s 31 this season, but he could be a good value signing and he’s got low mileage on his arm.
  12. I’m in awe of the potential for the ‘24 Orioles. This is the most talented group I’ve ever seen as an O’s fan, and with the most organizational depth I’ve ever seen. This is predominantly home grown team, and yet we still have the top farm system in baseball. Enjoy this! This is a special time and we earned this as fans. And if you don’t lock up Elias long term in your first act as new owners, your incompetence is already on display. Pay the man!
  13. I’m sure Ronald Guzman will get an invite. He could be an interesting story to watch.
  14. Pretty sure it was Jeffrey Hammonds and Chris Hoiles who I saw at Bohagers. Later, I realized Hammonds was using the urinal next to me. Decided it wasn’t the best time to strike up a conversation. Tippy was a guest coach at a youth baseball camp I was in and couldn’t have been any nicer. My son was getting instruction from a coach recently before I realized he was a former Orioles draftee (two TJ surgeries ended his career). A family friend met Cal in a bar very early in his career. She didn’t know who he was and wasn’t interested in him. Oops!
  15. I picked the one that sounds the most like a law firm because I have no idea why or what I’m really voting for here.
