  1. I don’t hate it as much as I did when it was first announced but I still don’t like it and I voted no. It’s a one year deal which is fine, but it still doesn’t make sense considering the middle infield talent this organization has and should be able to promote to Baltimore in ‘23. So he doesn’t make sense, the dollars don’t make sense but it’s only for one season at least.
  2. Anyway, I don't hate this move. I don't really love it either. Givens has a chance to be an important member of our bullpen or a fringe guy. We'll see how it shakes out.
  3. I found a photoshop of him online in an Orioles uniform, someone did a bang-up job with this airbrush. In case you guys wanna see what he looks like in an Orioles uniform, here he is:
  4. Can we get this thread to 1,000 posts? I think we can!
  5. I don't really get it. There's a difference between Brett Phillips mashing at AAA (in 24 games) vs. a guy like Urrutia vs. a guy like Cowser or Norby or Mayo who's on the upswing of his career. IIRC, people here were dreaming on Urrutia because he was a Cuban import and I think we were all excited about the possibility of having a Cuban prospect panning out. That's different than trying to project a guy who's been drafted and developed and on the upswing of his career. Which is different than someone like Phillips who, whatever. Probably too old for AAA and, despite his struggles in the majors, should be able to handle minor league pitching. Maybe it's cause I'm two drinks in and I'm watching Sunday Night Football but I'm not sure I understand the correlation between a guy who's a retread like Phillips and worrying about how his success in AAA last year is something that should be taken into consideration when looking at other players.
  6. Will a summers worth of Dick Mountain jokes take the sting away of a terrible offseason? Let’s find out!
  7. Lol 38 pages and 570+ posts on the Adam Frazier signing.
  8. They wanted him but didn’t want to keep him.
  9. They need to stop trying to throw it back to all things JT related.
  10. RZNJeezy, I am gobsmacked! My heavens, yes! The Frazier move is chess, not checkers! Of course it is! Picking up a 31 year old 2nd baseman who put up 0.9 WAR last year and will be on his 4th team in three years is a move that’s so far over our heads we’ll be blown away at how forward thinking it turned out to be when the corresponding moves are made to make this one look better! I can’t WAIT to see what Elias has up his sleeve to make the Frazier signing of 1 year for 8 million make sense. Man, it’s gonna be Orioles Magic!
  11. God I hope not. That **** was so annoying. Yeah, Buck, let’s focus on TTP when stealing bases is at an all time low.
  12. I also don’t care that we’re grading through 12/15. Most of the impact players we could have used are off the market. People can keep shouting that it’s only 12/15 until they’re blue in the face, it doesn’t change that they’ve whiffed so bad thus far and there’s not many free agents they can sign to take this from a D or an F to a B or an A.
  13. This sums it up very well from my perspective. They’ve failed miserably at upgrading the rotation and Frazier’s signing is inexcusable with all of the MI talent in this organization. I also agree that they’re clinging to this idea of the need for a lefty bat too much. Who cares?
  14. We should find the smallest little league participation trophy and send it to the Warehouse.
  15. From what I can remember Hampton never got hurt, he was just awful. So I don’t feel too bad wishing that. Wouldn’t want to wish anyone an injury.
  16. I didn’t think Rodón was on our radar from the start, before the offseason got disappointing. But the fact that he went to a division rival just magnifies how bad our offseason has been so far. And I don’t think it’s going to get better. I said it the other day and I’ll say it again here, the only area Elias has been aggressive in is deadline trades. That’s it. Never been aggressive in free agency, never been aggressive in offseason trading. Maybe he feels that leverage is on his side at the deadline and that’s the best place to acquire talent, I dunno. But hey, it’s only December 15th! I’m sure there’s a rabbit he can pull out of a hat somewhere and make us feel better about Gibson, Mazara, Franchy, and Frazier.
  17. But again: they signed Chris Davis to comparable figures several years ago. If they wanted to, they could have afforded this. That’s not me saying this was a smart move or a dumb move. Just simply that they could afford this if they wanted.
